| Hoerle's The Holocaust Online Course |
[Jul. 1st, 2008|01:19 pm] |
Has anyone taken The Holocaust with Professor Hoerle online or any online class with Professor Hoerle? I am a Bio Major and will have a relatively full schedule this fall, but this subject is something I am truly interested in and as I have taken before in person, I know I enjoy his style of teaching. My biggest concern/question is about the workload? Any help you can give me is great!!
Thanks!! |

| Need of housing |
[Jun. 16th, 2008|09:52 pm] |
Hi
I am in need of an apartment for the upcoming school year. I am in DC currently and will not be back until August 10th so I cannot take anything that has leases up before then.
If any of you know of someone in need of a roommate (closer to south campus is a preference but not an absolute need) forward them to me via facebook or email at sarah_varnerin@student.uml.edu
thanks. |

| Bio Adviser |
[Oct. 25th, 2007|11:02 pm] |
|
So, I finally got all the paperwork in to declare my second major in Biology and I've been assigned Professor Hochberg as my advisor. I'm just wondering if there's anyone else that has him and can tell me what he's like as an advisor. I'm just curious and would love some insight before I meet with him...
Thanks in advance :) |

I was wondering if anyone has taken the Radiation and Life class with a lab. I am a music major taking a million credits so I wanted something that didn't require a whole lot of brain cells even though I am a really good math and science student. Any input on the class? |

| Quick question |
[Aug. 29th, 2007|07:22 pm] |

Hey quick question for those who've furnished their apartments in the past... Any recommendations for stores/sources for furniture and bedding? I'm basically looking for a computer desk and mattress/boxspring/bedframe. Bob'S Discount Furniture has a cheap mattress set for $180 plus delivery, any better deals around? |

Hopefully you'll be able to help me...I am taking Calculus I this semester and they've just announced the professors who will be teaching the recitation courses. I was wondering if you could give me your feedback on which one I should take. I am not that great at Math, and I am a CJ/Biology double major. Any info you can give me is great!
The teachers are: Arthur Forgetta, Charles Ormsby and John Lahoud.

| random question. |
[Aug. 16th, 2007|10:11 pm] |
hey everyone, I just wanted to put it out there that I am working on writing 3ish short 5 minute episodes which I plan to send to Channel 101, i am searching for people who have a two person room, preferably not a suite but i will take anything really provided you allow the room to be shifted for filming, meaning moving beds and desks, not 100% sure if this is needed but it might be.
basically use your room as a set for filming. we are willing to work with your schedule.
also looking for another actor, i had one in mind but i have had absolutely no luck reaching the gentleman, and thus i may need to look for others.
so here is a description, i am looking for a male student, white, could pass as someone who enjoys pot, a cigarette smoker (in real life), who wants to play sort of a cool idiot, very sarcastic, thick, and kind of an asshole.
thanks! |

| Apartments? |
[Aug. 10th, 2007|04:20 am] |
Hello all,
I just got re-admitted to UML this week, and have just put in my housing deposit, so I'm assuming I won't have housing and will be waitlisted.
Do any of you need or know someone who needs a roomate for an apartment? I'm a 21 sane, responsible male looking for someplace to live year round near campus.
If you guys have any info on apts, or better yet have suggestions on how to be able to get housing in the dorms, feel free to email me at userjjb@yahoo.com or leave a comment here. Any help would be much appreciated, I don't want to have to live out of my car the whole semester. |

| Principles of Bio I/Experimental Bio I |
[Jul. 9th, 2007|08:27 am] |

Has anyone taken Principles of Biology I and Experimental Biology I? What exactly is the extra "class" that you automatically get enrolled in - this is in addition to the Principles of Bio class and the Experimental Bio Lab? It's course number is 81.117.101? Does it meet every week, etc? |

| Buy a book? |
[May. 14th, 2007|09:49 am] |
Since people like to make new editions of every book possible to make it impossible to sell back back one editions to the Umass Lowell bookstore,
Would anyone like to buy a Hola Amigos Spanish I and Culture book? You will use this for TWO TERMS at the Spanish Beginning Level. I made the mistake of buying the book with the lab manual as a package deal brand new for over 150$. The lab manual is necessary, but you can just photocopy the pages you need using the lab copy at the Reserves Desk in O'Leary for much cheaper (there is an entire section of the lab book on videos which is NEVER EVER used)
I am selling the book itself starting at 50$. I think this is far since it's 1/3 of what I paid for and the lab manual should have probably only been worth 15$ at most (since that's how much copying the pages probably would have turned out to be since you don't use the whole thing EITHER) out of the 150 something dollars I spent on the package. If this does not sound reasonable, by all means let me know I am a being a jerk.
Please buy my book. Please. It's the only one I have no desire to keep for reference.
...then again, if anyone has any interesting history books and would like to trade I can reason with that as well.
Thanks.
And good luck on finals. Happy summer. |

| Summer Sublets in Lowell? |
[May. 3rd, 2007|02:14 pm] |
Hey there, I'm a student at Oberlin College (in northeast Ohio) and I'm going to be in Lowell doing research for July and August of this summer; I've never been there and I'm having trouble figuring out how to find housing. Craigslist is proving useless, and I can't find any sort of classifieds website for the area. So: is there a website where I can find summer sublets in Lowell? What can I expect to pay for a sublet in an area somewhat close to downtown? I don't have a car and I need to be downtown a lot, is the bus reliable? Any info you guys could give me will be helpful. Thanks! |
