Does anyone know what this is all about? What did the flyers say?

Re: Important Message Regarding Campus Safety

On Thursday evening, fliers containing language both hateful and threatening to the campus community were posted on campus. The UMBC Police are taking the threats seriously and are working with the County and State Police to monitor this situation.

We ask that you be especially attentive and report any suspicious activity to the UMBC Police at 410-455-5555.

We will keep the community informed should more information become available.

I am actually quite angry about the administration not putting more detail in this e-mail, considering the events of this week.
Sure, the VT people might not have known better in issuing vague warnings to their students, but haven't administrations learned their lesson - shouldn't we get even a gist of what the threat was? Anyone with me here or am I alone on this one?

Since when does the UMBC Admin do ANYTHING remotely helpful to the students well-being? Shouldn't be anything new...and yeah, i wouldn't put it past them to make some shit up either.

Here's the e-mail I just sent to Ms. Lewis and the police department:

UMBC Police Department:

Considering this past Monday's events, I think the students should be
informed as to the content of these flyers. Many students share this
opinion and are upset that we haven't received further information
regarding this incident.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. Did we not learn anything from Monday?

I don't know if where I heard it from was generalizing or not, but they said it seemed like it was a white supremacy group. Don't take my word for it though.

Oooo the police department actually e-mailed me back! Here's their response:

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I am
aware of your concerns and share them also. My concerns also include the
entire campus. This matter is currently under investigation and sharing
the contents of the message at this stage would not serve in the best
interest of the investigation. I am in constant contact with the
administration on this matter and at sometime in the near future, I hope
to share more. Please contact me by e-mail with any questions or
concerns, I will communicate back to you.

i think they just made this up. i didn't see any flyers, and if there were any someone had to have seen them. and if that was the case everyone would know what they said.

Apparently there were flyers around campus with white powder on them, with threats of blowing up stuff.

I work at the front desk in Erickson, and someone wrote in our log that the police had called and informed us of that
