So... What happened to IKON?

Ikon have postponed their European tour due to a hand injury sustained by one of the members of the band. They may be joining us early next year, so please friend us on myspace and we'll keep you up to date with that.

We were too excited about Solemn Novena coming down from Belfast to play their first London gig and we'd heard good things about Rhombus as a live act, so instead of canceling the event we found a replacement for Ikon.

Sins of the Flesh have accepted the invitation to join the line-up! Sins of the Flesh made a name for themselves in the early 90s with songs like "Torture" and "Eyes of a Suicide" and are back with a new (international) line-up and new tracks.

Pre-purchased Ikon tickets will be valid on the night, so do hang on to them. If you would prefer a refund please contact us before 1st September and we'll arrange something.

Otherwise, see you on Thursday September 11th!

Sheepish Goth stuff in Leeds

There's some stuff changing in Leeds. As you may be aware Transmission has now ended and from the 5th September Friday Flock (the irreverent Phono goth/industrial night) will return.

We're also endeavouring to run regular "early door" gigs before Friday Flock, we're treating them as separate to the clubnight (as door prices may vary) although entry to the gigs will always get you into Friday Flock free.

The gigs kick off on the same night as the first Flock, with live sets from both Rome Burns and Violet Vortex. We've also got forthcoming live events organised featuring bands such as Screaming Banshee Aircrew and Cybercide.

If all that wasn't enough, Black Sheep is still Leeds' only weekly goth/industrial night, free entry every Sunday night down the Subculture.

LVG Monthly Social (Thurs) 'Skeletons: London's Buried Bones' and (Sat) Annual Picnic

This Thursday the LVG intend to take in the 'Skeletons: London's Buried Bones' at the Welcome Collection before retiring to our usual haunt for our monthly socials.

The Plan. Meet in the cafe of the Welcome Collection for 6 for a 6.30 start. The exhibition should take about an hour or more and then head over to The Plough (the upstairs function room is open from 7.00 p.m. for LVG Members and Guests). Exhibition is free and there will be people walking between the exhibition and the pub if anyone needs a guide.

Also this Saturday 16th August we have our annual picnic in Waterlow Park

Slimelight this Weekend

Just a quick reminder that the ‘TradGoth’ floor of Slimelight is open this Saturday. Owing to renovations on the ground floor, the Goth is on the top floor. This means you have less far to trudge between the Goth and EBM/Industrial ;)

Loki, Fad and I will be playing the best in new and classic Goth, Darkwave and Dark Indie until 6am.

Tomorrow's edition of the Metro will carry a gig preview about the band. Since some of the ticket outlets in Leeds are almost sold out the online 'electronic ticket' option will now remain until the end of Wednesday evening. If you are able to buy tickets in person in Leeds then Hellraiser still has plenty left. Please note that even if the advance tickets do all sell out there will still be entry available at the door because of the capacity of the venue.
