Falls Park on Thursday, August 3. A map and directions can be found at : http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?a Enter through the north entrance and meet us at the picnic pavilion. We will gather at 7, start ritual at 7:30. Please bring a dish to share. If you are interested in car pooling from Coffman on the university campus, please RSVP to pagan@tc.umn.edu. This Lughnasadh could be our last event. Due to a decline in student membership, UPS might be disbanding. We have until September 30 to re register as a student group. UPS regularly scheduled meetings are at 7 on Thursdays. We will be moving back to our old location, Peik hall, for the remainder of our time after the Lughnasadh ritual. If there are students interested in joining who can’t make Thursdays, please contact us. If there are University students interested in forming another student pagan group, please contact us at pagan@tc.umn.edu. We will donate our group materials and help explain University regulations. If anyone wants to spread this around, feel free. As someone who enjoys the urban lifestyle and who still considers myself very much a Pagan, I am engaging in a series of ritual/performance art/experiments that I would like to invite you to join in. All rituals and meditations will be designed and written by me, and this is a way of testing them to see if they're worth including in a book I'm assembling. Some of you will be OK with this, and for those that are, if you are able, please join me in my rampant guinea pig process! The first experiment is on June 10. I ask that people meet me at the Second Moon coffeeshop on Franklin at 3:00, and be prepared to use public transportation (it's part of the meditation). My schedule for the first set of adventures is as follows: 1. June 10: Spirit of the City meditation Bring a token, such as a gold dollar coin, that you can leave as an offering. 2. June 24: Skyway labyrinth walk 3. July 15: Oldest city park in Minneapolis (guided meditation on Augsburg campus) 4. July 29: Drive-by magic expirement (sp?) -- using prepared charms as a way of "peace bombing" troubled neighborhoods. I do ask that anyone under 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This is not intended to form a coven, this is something I view more as combining research with an artist's collective. If you are comfortable being somewhat silly in public, this will likely be OK for you. If you are in the closet for professional reasons, this may not be the best place depending on your life circumstances and whether you'd run into your boss in downtown Minneapolis on a Saturday afternoon. If you are unable to do this and wish to say something about it, please send regrets privately. As in all things that involve trying to accomplish a collective effort, the times and dates won't work for everyone -- so I've simply resorted to setting them at a time that works with my schedule and energy levels, in hopes that it's synchronous with the schedules and energy levels of a few other folks. If you're only able to do something once in awhile or for certain events, that's fine -- drop-in and unpredictability is part of the fun. If you are able to do this, by all means let me know ahead of time. My contact email is diana.rajchel@gmail.com. **************************************** I actually have an entire calendar around, but I've found it's better to only work on two months at a time. I love to bat around ideas on experimenting and learning about this. Cheers! Tue, Apr. 11th, 2006, 09:34 am

Thursday, yes, this thursday is our chance to speak back, to stand up for ourselves as GLBT folk and ask for equal rights and equal rites. And Thursday is also a chance for all of you straight folks and Christians to show that you will not support bigotry through your silence, that you will not allow those who shout their hate the loudest to stand as a representative of you and your faith. It starts at 7:30-9:00am, rally at 8:00 at the State Capital in St Paul. Pass the word on. Mon, Mar. 20th, 2006, 12:11 pm
starting a seminar series every otherTuesday, starting at 7, outside of our regular meeting times. Our first will be on March 21, then April 4, then April 18. For the first seminar, we will be showing a movie-- quite possibly the Wicker Man-- and having a discussion afterwards. We will be in room 375 of Peik Hall, http://onestop.umn.edu/Maps/PeikH/ of the University Campus. We also meet regularly on Thursday, 7-9, in Coffman Union on the third floor ( http://www.coffman.umn.edu/about/direct every week, and these range from Pagan traditions like Asatru,Gardnerianism, and Celtic Reconstructionism, to topics like Astrology and tarot. For more information, please go to our website: www.umn.edu/~pagan . We are currently looking for new members, and most especially student members. We have had a high amount of turnover recently, and many students are graduating this year, so the group make up has changed from what it was in the past. If you have any questions about the group, please e-mail pagan@tc.umn.edu. Thu, Mar. 2nd, 2006, 09:09 am

Seeker's Bill of Rights Seekers on the pagan path are in an extremely vulnerable position. In their quest for fellowship and teaching, they risk encountering those who use faith to prey on others. To empower the Seekers of our community, a Seeker's Bill of Rights has been drafted. This tool will help to alert Seekers of a problem if a group or teacher violates any of the ten rights described. It will also serve to remind Seekers that while they do not have "degrees", they are still human beings with rights and dignity. (Written by Charles Mars, Texas Local Council Member and 1999-2002 National CoG Board Member) I. The Right to Verify Credentials Seekers shall not be obstructed from substantiating claims made by a teacher or group. In the case of Elders that were inspired to create a new tradition, the Seeker has the right to know the circumstances surrounding the inception of that tradition. II. The Right to Anonymity Seekers have the right to keep their involvement in the occult a secret to preserve their personal & professional lives. III. The Right to Financial Stability Seekers shall not be required or coerced into taking on any financial burdens on behalf of a teacher or group. IV. The Right to Compensation for Professional Goods & Services Seekers have the right to be paid for goods produced and/or skilled labor from which they would normally receive an income. Seekers shall not be required or coerced into providing discounts or "freebies" on behalf of a teacher or group. V. The Right to Sexual Freedom Seekers shall not be required or coerced into sexual relations with unwanted persons, nor shall Seekers be restricted from sexual relations with consenting adults. VI. The Right to Physical Well-Being Seekers shall not be required or coerced into submitting to any form of physical injury or abuse. VII. The Right to Abide by te Law Seekers shall not be required or coerced into committing any illegal act. VIII. The Right to Consistency Seekers have the right to expect consistency in policies by a teacher or group. Seekers should be formally informed in a timely manner of any policy changes. IX. The Right to Separation with Impunity Seekers have the right to discontinue association with any teacher or group without fear of harassment or reprisal. X. The Right to be at Peace with One's Conscience Seekers shall not be required or coerced into committing any action contrary to their own sense of ethics and morality. For more information, email us at texas@cog.org. Mon, Jan. 30th, 2006, 10:52 pm
