RULES & GUIDELINES
Please read carefully before joining the community! | 1. Treat other members respectfully, as you would want them to treat you.
2. The U2 community has no anonymous posting or commenting; if you don't have a LiveJournal and want to join in, just sign up for your own free account. You'll be glad you did!
3. Please be considerate towards members (especially those on dial-up) who don't want their friends page cluttered with images. This is a U2 discussion community; a more appropriate place to share photographs and graphics is u2photos. If you do want to post an image here, you should hide it behind a descriptive LJ cut tag.
4. If you're interested in swapping U2-related userpics, please join u2icons where you will find many likeminded fans. The U2 community should not be used for frequent icon promotions.
5. Not everyone is interested in online quiz results, so if you want to post them here, place them behind a meaningful cut tag and keep them within a single comment thread. Nobody wants to see dozens of separate posts announcing everyone's results to the same quiz!
6. This is a U2 community so remember to keep your posts U2-related. The moderators reserve the right to delete any posts that are extremely off-topic. If you have a good reason for making an OT post, put it behind a cut tag stating that it's not about U2, so people can easily skip the post if they choose. (It's a good idea to ask a moderator for permission before posting any off-topic material.)
7. Please try to keep discussions clean and suitable for fans of all age groups. Promotion of drug use is strictly against the community rules, and could result in the immediate removal of your posting rights. The same goes for any other material deemed vulgar or inappopriate.
8. NO SPAM. Take your free iPods somewhere else. Spammers will be banned from the community.
9. NO SCALPERS. We are happy for fans to trade or sell tickets at face value plus TM fees, but anyone caught auctioning or selling tickets at inflated prices will be banned immediately. Community members should use their own good judgement when purchasing tickets from someone they've never met on the Internet. You may wish to meet the seller in person at the venue if you have any questions or do not feel comfortable exchanging money/tickets via the Net or snail mail.
10. Please use a clearly labelled cut tag when posting anything that might be considered a spoiler (e.g. concert setlists, discussion of new songs, TV appearances etc). Spoilers tend to upset people who have not yet seen or heard the song/show in question.
11. If you download a file that another member has shared via a YouSendIt.com link in the community, please be courteous enough to re-upload the file when the original link expires, so that others in the community may download and enjoy it too.
12. If you have serious problems with other members, need any help with posting, want to know if something is appropriate before you post it, or anything else, you are welcome to email one of the moderators. The box at the top of the info page will direct you to a mod who is currently available to deal with any queries.
13. Absolutely no whiny, rude or aggressive behaviour towards the moderators will be tolerated. Displaying any sort of attitude problem will more than likely get you banned.
