My name's Hilary and I lived in Tyler last year. You may have met me when I was visiting this past week. Anywho, sometime during my stay, probably the night of the 17th because I visited like 10 people, I misplaced a sweatshirt in Tyler. It's gray and says "the Delta Program" in black words made out of little people.
It's rather special to me as it bears the name of my high school and I received it as a gift from some current Delta students. So if you find it please keep it for me or give it to Cathy and/or Claire. If you wouldn't mind sending it to me I could give you my address in Toronto. Please don't put it in the free box! (and if you saw me rummaging in there it's cause I was lookin' for it)
Thanks everyone! And thanks for giving me awesome Tylerite hospitality during my visit :)
06:38 pm - can't stand the heat heat's on, bitchez.
either that, or my radiator's trying to take off. guess that's why we had a fire alarm today....
anyway, some people don't have heat. and if you knit, you can do something about that! i'm asking you, the knitters of tyler house, to knit 7" x 9" blocks, in whatever style you desire in worsted 3 or 4 ply yarn. it must be washable, and cannot be more than 25% wool. please leave a long tail on the end, as all pieces will be sewn together to make blankets for ... project linus!
project linus, in their own words:
"Project Linus is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission:
First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer 'blanketeers.'
Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children."
visit their website here if you want more info! or, stop by my room to talk and/or give me completed blocks!
10:20 pm - Am I still allowed to do this? Hi, Tyler! I'm Michi, rhymes with "Squishy" and I do haunt Tyler house. Listen for my high heels clomping down the stairs at odd hours.
I wish I were still in Tyler. I graduated in May and unlike Lizzi (miss you so much it hurts, no-homo), have not found a way to stay. I expect all of you to make friends with Strawberry Milk, the pink pony.
P.S. Don't study too hard, and try to get into the attic at some point. P.P.S. My apartment-mate lost me when we were shopping and she yelled "Helen" for my "Keller".
09:58 pm - This introduction is mostly sincere Hey everybody! I'm Lizzi, I'm a super senior, and I live in room 212 Saturday-through-Monday with my homosexual life partner, Emily. I enjoy reading Harry Potter and/or bouncing off the walls while everyone else is doing homework. Pish posh. I also like watching Star Trek, speaking in other languages while intoxicated (or not), and discussing vegetarian recipes and cooking (I am a master at super-sneaky hotplate cooking). I hope to haunt Tyler House someday; most likely the big stall in the 2nd floor bathroom. Watch out!
08:23 pm - ID time Ok, I think with the new year and new people everyone should step out and identify themselves again. I'll start. I'm Quinn, I'm an 08J, and I live on the 4th floor. Current Mood: productive Current Music: Steely Dan - The Boston Rag
11:24 pm - Free trip to Israel Hey Tyler House, this may seem random, but thought I'd give it a shot. Does anyone here wanna come to Israel for FREE this winter? I'm trying to find a few people who are interested in doing Birthright. The only requirement is that you have at least one jewish parent, are under 26 and havent been on an organized trip to Israel after the age of 12. I'm gonna put the info here because this is an amazing opportunity and you should check it out, you dont have anything to lose, it's completely safe and totally free, and an amazing experience. The trip is about 10-12 days and you dont pay a penny.
08:25 pm - :D Hello my Tyler lovelies. I just wanted to let you all know that I am officially ready to come back for the fall semester. I don't know yet what my housing assignment is going to be but I will of course be trying to get back into Tyler if at all possible. Can't wait to see all y'all! <3 Quinn Current Mood: excited
01:34 pm - Take good care of her for me Yo Tyler House,
My good friend Laura is gonna be a Tyler House Firstie this coming September. She's a friend of mine from camp who I met a couple years back. She's fun-loving and sweet and hails from North Carolina. As I will be in Toronto, please welcome and care for her in my stead.
03:01 pm I was realizing that we probably don't all know who eachother are on here. I'd like to fix that, though maybe I'm the only one (and maybe I'm just bored in class...)
But anyway, I'm Jess G, I'm a senior living on the fourth floor.
11:02 pm - Jessie on Job (the Biblical text): aka "Biblical Fun with Cool Runnings"
Jessie: Fox's article on Job has a section on "what Job sees" Jessie: First thing? Power. Jessie: Job sees PRIDE. Job sees POWER. Jessie: Job sees a BAD[ASS] MOTHER, WHO DONT TAKE NUTHIN FROM NOBODY
10:53 am - Senior sale Gooooooooooood morning, everyone!
I'm not sure if you've all heard about this, but the 07 class is having a "senior sale" in the CC on April 22nd, which is basically a 'yard sale' of sorts to get rid of college things (in anticipation of "real life things"). I would like to sell some things, but I feel awkward hawking my wares by myself. Thus, two questions for the viewing audience:
1. If you are an 07, are you thinking about selling your junk? Maybe we can get tables together so we're not lonely. Also, apparently they charge $5-$10 for a table, so maybe we can just share one and not spend any monies.
2. If you're not an 07, does this sound like a cool thing, and would you consider browsing the piles of junk in hopes of finding something cool (and cheap)?
