Apple Orchards and/or Pumpkin Patch
Anyone know any good Apple Orchards and/or Pumpkin Patches in the West Metro?

Bonus points for being kid friendly.

Extra bonus points for fabulous Apple Donuts.

Google Search is such a strange tool.

Try it sometime.

Totally second Minnetonka Orchards. I was just there yesterday... U-pick honeycrisps :) Also, their donuts were awesome, and its really hard to find an orchard here that is both U-pick AND has donuts.

Oooh! Good to know. I was contemplating dragging my sister in law to one of these sometime soon...

Its a little expensive... although all of the metro orchards seem expensive. But they have a shop with cute stuff and live music (bluegrass-folk-type stuff) on the weekends. They've also got apple brats and hot/cold cider and stuff. But its the best one I've been to around here.

Aamodt's Apple Farm is awesome, but it's more East (near Stillwater I think?). It's great though, has a petting zoo, hay bale mountain, apple donuts and other treats. Pretty sure they do pumpkins too.

Aamodt's: never again.

We made the 1 hour+ trek to Aaamodt's this year for the 3rd annual family fall fun day. Short recap -

Year 1 - awesome honeycrisps, leisurely orchard stroll w/ little ones, great wine tasting, friendly folks on staff.

Year 2 - awesome honeycrisps, crabby pony ride lady + 45 second pony ride for $3, great wine tasting, one or two friendly folks who stood out from a sea of forgettable staff.

Year 3 - awesome honeycrisps - the old reliable, same crabby pony ride lady + 20 SECOND pony ride for $4 (!!!!), no friendly interaction with aamodt's staff. oh, the other old reliable - great wine tasting.

bottom line...my fam (2 parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother-in-law, 1 partner, 4 grandkids + assorted others) will not be visiting aamodt's again. it has become way too expensive for a simple family activity...reminds me a little of Aamodt's is to Apple Orchards what Kalahari Resort is to Wisconsin Dells. we will be looking for a simpler, more truly family oriented orchard for our 4th annual fall family fun day. There's just nothing that draws me as a family oriented consumer back there...lack of good customer service, lack of affordability/value, just plain lacking. i'll be reading the other recommendations on this page for next fall's plans. I'd highly recommend you do the same.

Enjoy this and every season!

I went last year and had a great time. I'm sorry you had a negative experience.

That's tough. Most pumpkin patches in the Twin Cities are adult-oriented. Not only is nudity frequent, it's actively encouraged!

This may be a bit far for comfort, but Emma Krumbee's just off of 169 in Belle Plaine is amazing.

They have all sorts of activities for kids and endless amounts of delicious treats. All in addition to the large fields of pumpkins and apples.

I think this is the place my mom and aunt took my siblings, cousins and I, quite awhile ago. I remember really liking it there. It was when the Macarena was super popular because they unfortunately played it there once and there were people doing it out front. Doesn't this place have a bunch of "agricultural art" or something?

I cannot recall what you are specifically talking about, but I wouldn't doubt it if there was something of the like there.
