R.I.P. Fahrenheit Nightclub
Tonight is the last night Fahrenheit Nightclub (322 1st Avenue N- next to Fine Line) will be open.

Three new nightclubs are opening next month: Axis, ENVY, and Aqua. ENVY and Aqua will both be over 10,000 square feet.

Are we looking at a serious OVER SATURATION of nightclubs here in Minneapolis?

I second that. Foundation is wonderful.

Aqua will be Hip/Hop Top 40, AXIS will be Top 40, Old School Hip Hop, and ENVY will dual dance floors- Hip/Hop Top 40 in the back, House music up front with DJ Strangelove and all of his cohorts spinning. I just wonder if it will be too large of a space, and at Fahrenheit there were always problems when Hip Hop fans muddled with House music fans.

i'm down with anything that supplies good dancing alternatives, but i'm not down with the people that go to most of the clubs here. if i want to hang out with douchebags slamming red bull vodkas, i'll go to eden prairie.

I was at Ground Zero on Saturday and there were at least 2 guys there with disabilities. I found myself thinking that it was probably the only club in town where anyone would actually TALK to them. So many places here are so... snooty.

I love clubbing but so many places downtown are all the same. Doesn't seem worth it to pay a cover (plus nine bucks a drink) to listen to bad music and have some schlub hump my leg.

I agree! More variety is needed, and paying a cover is ridiculous when you think of how much they are making on drinks.

Agreed. I won't pay more than $3.50 for a leg humping unless I'm in NYC.

Yep! 400 1st Ave. North!

But they will be called "ENVY" or "eNVy" as the logo goes...

Of a conglomeration of owners and other investors, the previous owner of Fahrenheit will be one of them.

Best and worst club DJ's in town?

I'm new in town, and I have a question...

Who are the hottest / best club DJ's in Minneapolis? Who are the biggest names in town?

Also, while we're on the subject, who are the worst?

I worked for father of the owners of this club. It doesn't really break my heart. But they fired me TWICE, so I am sure I am past biased.
