Beer and Wi-Fi?
Any recommendations on places for graduate students to study? Must have beer AND free wi-fi! Prefer somewhere around Minneapolis or St. Paul (i.e. not the suburbs since most of us live in the cities), and it certainly doesn't have to be quiet either. Just computer- and student-friendly. Coffee shops aren't cutting it anymore.

Black Dog in St. Paul serves beer and wine and has wifi.
There are other coffee shops that serve beer and wine and have wifi, that's what I'd look for.

i think Acadia cafe has wifi, but it's best to ask first

they also have another room with live bands everynight, but its not too loud to read or study in the main room.

the Herkimer brewpub has wi-fi and has a full bar. happy hour is 3-6 2 for 1's on beer and well drinks and they have appitizers specials too.

it is on lyndale just north of lake st (next to tatters and vfw)

also the independent and i think filio's in caloun square has it too, oh and emma's lounge on lyndale and just south of 28th st which is the quietest place

Wi-Fi, full bar, AND happy hour specials? Sounds right up my alley.

I've spent a good amount of time studying at the Wilde Roast Cafe which is right on the border between NE and Marcy-Holmes, very convenient to the U itself. It has wine and beer in addition to coffee, and very good food for those times when studying makes you work up an appetite. The only problem is it can get a little crowded in the evenings.

Emma's Lounge has wireless according to their sign, some beer, and an excellent cocktail list. The lounge in the back has a hadnful of armchairs and is nice and cozy... (On Lyndale just south of 28th Street)
