19.07.2009 @ 12:59am Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Movie) [ ] cdsmm [ mood | ecstatic ] Have you seen it? Have you seen it yet? No? GO SEE IT!!! It's frikkin amazing! Best one yet in my opinion.  I felt like it stayed really close to the book, except for a few scenes that got me confused, but not by much, it fit in pretty well with the way the movie was going. I love love love the way this movie was directed, the camera work was very good, and the special effects were especially great! The actors are still really good. They all play their parts really well, and there was something about this movie, and I couldn't pinpoint it exactly, but I felt like the actors are doing much much better with their roles and such. So much better, in fact, that while I was watching them, I forgot that they were real people living in the real world. I really don't know what to say, it was just really enjoyable. Go see it. It's the must-see movie of this summer! :) I'm so excited for the 7th movie. . .

19.07.2009 @ 1:10am Odds and Ends [ ] macbeaner [ mood | happy ] I should be in bed since I swore I was going to church tomorrow, but I haven't posted in awhile (priorities!  LOL!) I wanted to post pics of my current projects, but that won't happen tonite. I've seen a bunch of movies lately.  So I'll do a couple of quick reviews. 1)  Star Trek Wow.  I thought I would be bored since I've gotten out of the Trekkie phase, but boy was I wrong.  My only problem was trying to reconcile it as a prequel to the first Star Trek movie.  Don't.  LOL.  Its basically an AU.  But it was very well done and it was done in such a way that they can do sequels if they ever decide to.  Excellent movie. 2)  Transformers:  Revenge of the Fallen. I LOVE the soundtrack to this movie.  I've listened to it so much on free.napster that hubby finally got me the CD.  But the movie?  Not much plot.  Lots of blowing stuff up.  But...it seemed like the little bit of plot was shoved in between an excuse for lots of pyrotechnics.  I was kind of disappointed in it.  But, one of these days, I want to go back and rewatch the first one and then maybe try watching the second one again. 3)  Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince I loved the movie.  I really didn't like the book.  I never had any desire to go back and re-read it.  My SIL said they left key parts of the book out of the movie, but I honestly don't remember the book well enough to know, so I can't say i was disappointed.  I think the movie was very well done.  I was only disappointed in the fact that they left out the funeral at the end.  I think that would have been one thing I would have liked to have seen in the movie.  But other than that.  Excellent movie. I was excited to actually see some movies in the past month.  Hubby and I don't go too often.   Usually because we have different tastes, and movies are soooo expensive.  But there are still a couple of movies I really would like to see, so I hope we'll go a few more times this summer.  :)  But I know I can also go see them on occasion with my SIL too if hubby and I really can't agree (like New Moon - I already have my "date with my SIL" planned.  LOL) I've read a ton of books in the past month, but most of them have been for review.  I have Common Sense by Glenn Beck and The Graveyard Book sitting on my TBR pile to be read as soon as things slow down a  little for the two review sites (yeah - who am I kidding?  LOL!) Like I said earlier, I've been working on a bunch of stuff quilting wise.  I finished the three table runners, I finished the fairy quilt - even though I'm really not happy with the quilting, I made a backpack purse and now I'm in the middle of making a "sizzling circles  quilt" with batiks.  I'm really excited about this one.  So, I can't wait to finish it.  :)  Then next up is hopefully two super sekrit projects and then I'll finish the runners for my bedroom and then creating a scrap quilt or two - since I have a TON of scraps with all my projects I've finished lately.  Then I have a kitty quilt I hope to possible make using the sizzling circles pattern.  Depending on how this one comes together.  If not, I'll be looking for suggestions on how to use my kitty fabrics. I need to post about my canoeing trip too, but that won't be tonite. But I'm off to bed, so have a good night and as always, thanks for reading!  :) . .

19.07.2009 @ 10:53am August's coming already?! [ ] adino [ mood | weird ] [ music | warren barfield ** my heart goes out ] I am so behind time!! Hong Kong photos are up here! And the 1st batch of my Australia pictures are here! I've the rest on film. Hope they come out good! Sydney would have been a blast, if I didn't have to fall ill. FATIGUE! My tiny body can't take the constant alarms at 7am and travelling for the entire day. Also, a tip for those who want to ride in a top down convertible during Winter ( yes, who else would think of doing such things during this season besides us?) . Make sure your back seat passengers are wrapped up and warm! It looks cool and all that but the people who suffer the brutality of the winter winds are the ones at the back. *#$&&!@)! I tried to keep warm by limiting my wiggling in the backseat but having have to toggle with my iPod made my fingers really cold and numb after a while. The coldness got even worse as we drove higher  up and towards the Mountains. Warao, cannot take it. Still, the trip was as fun as it could get :3 Jason has more pictures on his FB here.   . .

18.07.2009 @ 11:08pm [ ] tiredsoles I just got back from my cousin Livia's wedding, so I don't have much time to blog. I've had internet for the whole week, but I'm really lazy and I didn't want to blog. The wedding was fun, but the reception has was amazing. It was filled joy and lots of love. Anyways I have a story to tell. During the end of the reception, when it was time to catch the bouquet, I was standing in the front. I was next to my cousin, Mavis, who's Livia's younger sister. I jokingly said to her "Mavis, run interference." and "Go long." When Livia tosses the bouquet towards the front, because her sister's boyfriend got the garter belt, Mavis litteraly runs off to the side, and I kind of scuttle off to pick it up. The emcee starts asking me if there "Are any single guys in the crowd that I like?" So I make a complete ass out of myself and start saying things like "I'm out of their league", "Too old", and "not my type." I kept trying to get Mavis to take the bouquet back, but she doesn't want it, so I took it.  Oh god, I have a feeling that I embarrassed the family and I'll never be able to live this down. This will probably brought almost all the time. I'll probably tell a ton of people.  . .

My sister and I went on the hunt to look for Bon Bon Fine Chocolates, a small shop located in the city. They sold some of the most beautiful chocolates I've ever seen. The truffles are amazing! They are a bit costly so I reckon you should buy them for special occasions. ( Sugary Goodness ) . .
