Community Profile

This is a community for fans of Fox's 24, to rave about it and perhaps convert the poor people that don't know how good of a show this is...:)

Here are a few rules.

1. All posts are moderated, and must be approved before being made public. Having moderated posts was voted on by the majority of community members and this WILL NOT CHANGE. The mods are very good at approving posts quickly, especially after an episode, so don't fret.

2. Please use the LJ-cut tag when describing events of a previous episode. Instructions on how to do so are here.

3. The mods will delete any entry that could spoil things for people.

4. Above all, just use common sense. If you're very behind in what's going on, it's a good idea not to have this community on your friends' list. Also, if you are on the West Coast, it's a good idea to stay away from here until you have seen what the East ones have seen.

5. Feel free to post about the show, the DVD's or anything relating to the characters etc. Spammers will be banned at first instance, and people who just post stupid crap will first be warned and then we will get Jack Bauer to come to your house and kick the *BEEP* out of you, your family and your cat. And... they'll be banned.

6. Season Seven spoilers MUST BE CUT. Anything before that is open game. If you haven't watched Seasons 1-6, join at your own risk.

7. Spoilers for upcoming casting or episodes MUST contain a link to a source. No posting rumors without a credible source, please. Also, as stated in rule number 6, these MUST BE CUT.

8. Please also be considerate of other members when discussing episode previews. If you're discussing the previews in a full post, please use a cut and indicate that you are discussing the preview. If you are discussing the preview in comments, please state as such so if people don't want to be spoiled for the previews, they can skip ahead.

WARNING

The mods try and make sure no spoilers slip through on original posts, but sometimes people let things slip in their responses. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. Please don't whine if you accidentally read a spoiler, because, frankly, we hate whiners and we will be forced to pistol-whip you, cougar-style.

Important Change, instituted for Season 7!

From now on, wends will post an entry about an hour before each NEW episode (East Coast airtime) with the date, the episode number and the hour the episode covers. THIS IS YOUR POST TO FREAK OUT AFTER THE SHOW. This is where you post about how awesome a character is, how much Jack rules, whatever. If you have a more in-depth comment or theory, please post it in a separate post after the show. All posts more appropriate to the New Episode post will be directed there and deleted. The purpose behind this is to cut down on friends lists clutter on Monday nights and Tuesday mornings.

MISSED AN EPISODE!? HERE'S WHAT YOU DO:

1. First, you need a bittorrent program. There are several bittorrent programs out there, but you can find one by googling OR by heading to http://www.bittorrent.com or http://www.download.com
2. Download program. The program is a peer file sharing program.
3. A good site to start out with once you've downloaded bittorrent is http://www.isohunt.com
4. At the top of the page, you can do a search. Usually, searching for '24' is sufficient. The site will show you several links where you can download the episode.

We will not go into how exactly the program works. You can do that research yourself, but this should be enough to get you started. Be aware that peer file sharing programs are basically considered illegal in the United States and that bittorrent sites are currently being targetted.
