Welcome to Muses, our playground for all things Doctor Who and Torchwood. We love dw/tw fanfiction. That much is clear. But sometimes we all need a little inspiration to get moving, and that’s what we created this playground to do! Each week a prompt will be posted, and from that prompt, let your imagination run wild. Want to write something about Torchwood? Go for it! First Doctor and Susan? We love it! Four and K-9? Brilliant! And the list goes on and on. As far as what kind of fic beyond the characters, that too is at your discretion. Gen, romance, het, slash, tentacle hentai (okay, that one might be going a bit far, but you get the point), we welcome it all!

A few other guidlines to keep in mind:

-Please use a beta! They're worth their weight in gold. If not, please, please, please use spellcheck. We all have mistakes from time to time, but nothing ruins a good piece of writing faster than bad grammar and atrocious spelling.

-As mentioned above, per formatting, make your ratings very clear. And if your fic contains something particularly squicky or possibly upsetting (such as non-con, for example) make that crystal clear as well. We want to accomodate all writing, but we also want to make it easy for readers to avoid issues that could possibly be upsetting.

-We do have a 400 word minimum requirement for fics submitted here. Beyond that, the sky is the limit.

-If your fic is a multi-chaptered work, please link previous chapters in each new chapter post so readers can easily find the entire work.

-We ask that you tag your posts so that they are easier to find in the archives. Some basic tags have been set up. If there is one you would like or need and don't see, please don't hesitate to ask.

-A new prompt will be posted every Monday.

-There is no 'due date' on our prompts. Take as long as you like to write. There is no rule that a fic must be finished before another prompt is issued. To that end, feel free to use old prompts as well. We will keep a running list of previous prompts in memories.

-We encourage archiving anywhere and everywhere!
