We would ask you to observe the same courtesies in the Torchwood library, with the additional reminder not to feed the pterodactyl. Apologies to those of you who were expecting Mr Jones to be taking the tour. Captain Harkness requested his attendance in the deep archives for a spot of cross-referencing, so I’ll be your guide for today. What is the Torchwood Library? Using the incredibly helpful ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} torchwood_three newsletter, the Library brings together links to all the fanfiction published on LiveJournal by Torchwood fans since last November. It's a comprehensive rather than a selective list, pulling together everything published across all the different comms. The Library accepts no liability for spontaneous fan combustion or the consequences of selecting the Owen/Weevil tag. The libray's other motto is cavet lector...That's a lot of stories! How do I find my way round? Three ways: The Index Lists These bring together all the stories on a single theme. The list of lists is here and there's a complete map of the library here The Tags Each story link has its own tagged post, letting you find more of the same. The tags also give you the ratings for the stories - please use these to make sure you're reading what you want to read! The Memories All the authors have an entry in the memories, here, so if you like something, you can find more stories by the same person. Please remember how much authors love feedback (librarians too if it comes to that, but we're talking about authors at the moment) and leave them comments if you like their work, no matter how old the story is or how many other comments they have. More are always welcome and valued. Hang on, this story is tagged wrong/this link doesn't work/that's not how you spell it! The librarian's decisions are not final. It's just not possible to read every single story and typos happen even to the best of us, so there may well be some mistakes. Just drop me a comment and I'll get it fixed. Similarly, if you want your stories removed, please let me know. This story isn't finished/isn't what I want! Sorry, but the library is a gateway to stories, not a reviewing site. If you want to see a story finished, go encourage the author. If a story looks to have been completely abandoned, please let the library know, and we'll tag the entry accordingly. The lists of stories have the ratings next to them and most authors put warnings at the top of the page, so if it's not what you want, come back to the library and find something else! Why isn't my story up here yet? I wrote it ages ago! The backlog of stories is almost in the thousands and we're getting through them as quickly as we can. If you have a bit of time and could upload twenty or so stories, that would be fantastic. Drop me a comment or email me for details. Library cards are free to all! It's recommended that you don't watch the library as well as joining it. Remember, each story gets its own entry, so you'll end up with a swamped f-list if you do. You have been warned! And please, no flaming in the Library, although you're more than welcome to talk. Every now and then, I might dig a selection of stories out of the archives for suggested reading – it's all part of the service.
