AboutWelcome to the Torchwood and Doctor Who slashfest! This community is dedicated to inspiring your slash-fanfiction by putting up weekly prompts, every Monday. Slash fic about Torchwood, New and Classic Who! No deadlines, if you feel like writing for a prompt/challenge that was posted weeks or months ago, feel free! You can post multiple fics for a single challenge, too. To see the challenges that have been put up so far, see the community tags, which are listed down the side of the journal.
The Scary Rules of Doom are actually not many nor indeed that scary. I only ask that every posted story is SLASH FANFICTION, not het, or art. I love Martha/Doctor as much as the next Martha/Doctor lover, but in here she's looking for a bustier partner, while the Doctor is dreaming of his Captain/Master/Welshman, etc.
As far as this comm is concerned, I would like to keep our stories and posts responses to the challenges, though not necessarily the most recent challenge. Because there are no deadlines and you can keep posting for old challenges as well as new ones, you could tailor a fic to meet an old challenge. Because the challenges will be weekly and therefore pretty frequent, you could also suggest a challenge that fits your story then wait for it to come up!
Threesomes As long as a story focuses on a SLASH relationship, it is acceptable for a character of the opposite gender to participate. Just remember that this is a slash community. If your story works without the third wheel, maybe leave them out of it? If your story just has to have Rose with Jack and the Doctor though, make sure there is Jack/Doctor, not just Jack/Rose and Doctor/Rose. Because that would be het. A threesome is fine, but make sure the slash is the dominant presence of the fic.
Goes without saying that there shall be No Flaming or you will be cast out of our slashy paradise.

Rating: (I know this isn't always clear. If you're not sure, rate it high to be safe. You can always change it later.)

Spoilers: (Not only does this save people from being spoiled, it also gives readers an idea of where you're setting your story. Bear in mind that people watch DW and TW at different speeds. Just a "spoilers up to and including 'this episode'" will be fine.)
After that, it's just a case of putting in an lj-cut or link to your challenge response. You can post your stories for this community on your own journal as well, or other communities, but be sure to mention it was written for this comm. Hopefully that will draw more people into the party.
Tags - Very useful things. If everyone could try to remember to use these tags:
'challenge: name of challenge', 'characters: separate tag for each MAIN character', and 'author: that's you'.
Just 3 separate types of tag to keep it simple, yet make it easier for people to find the stories that interest them. So if I wrote a story that was Ten/Jack and also Ianto/Jack for a 'coat' challenge, my tags would be:
'challenge: coat', 'characters: ianto jones', 'characters: jack harkness', 'characters: tenth doctor', 'author: sarkywoman'.
If that's not clear, ask me to explain it better. I'll be happy to. Also be aware that you can only use existent tags. I will put any new tags on as they are necessary. It helps me keep track of things.
Let's see...what else...oh yes! Don't worry about word-count! You can write anything from a drabble to a novel and since there are no deadlines, you won't have to rush. Just bear in mind that if you want to respond to lots of challenges, you might find yourself with a bit of backlog!
If you could refer to various Doctors as 'Tenth Doctor' (Tennant) or 'Ninth Doctor' (Eccleston) etc, that will prevent any (nasty) surprises. Same with the Masters, the most recent being 'Simm Master', etc.
