About
...A very strange person stepped out from among the trees into the
light of the lamp-post. He was only a little taller than Lucy herself and
he carried over his head an umbrella, white with snow. From the waist
upward he was like a man, but his legs were shaped like a goat's (the
hair on them was glossy black) and instead of feet he had goat's hoofs.
He also had a tail, but Lucy did not notice this at first because it was
neatly caught up over the arm that held the umbrella so as to keep it
from trailing in the snow. He had a red woolen muffler round his neck
and his skin was rather reddish too. He had a strange, but pleasant little
face, with a short pointed beard and curly hair, and out of the hair there
stuck two horns, one on each side of his forehead. One of his hands, as
I have said, held the umbrella: in the other arm he carried several brown-
paper parcels. What with the parcels and the snow it looked just as if he
had been doing his Christmas shopping. He was a Faun.
I liked Tumnus from the moment I read about him when I was a child. He is a good character and about as dynamic as they get in the early Narnia books. Here we have a potential traitor, kidnapper, and murderer of little girls to boot who turns out to be a sweet individual and repents of his wicked ways.
Plus, according to this bio of Lewis:
"The image of a faun carrying parcels and an umbrella in a snowy wood came to him when he was sixteen."
In other words, Tumnus is deserving of appreciation simply because he is the first Narnian ever conceived of.
And he's pretty darn good lookin' in the new film ;-)
The purpose of this community is to give Tumnus lovers a place to congregate. General Narnia discussion is also accepted (he's not a major character, after all), but nothing anti-Tumnus will be permitted.

-I'm fine with shipping discussions as long as both parties are adults and as long as things aren't graphic. Again, post anything PG-13 and above behind a cut with an obvious warning.
-Feel free to advertise your community or site, just post a WARNING if it is not something kids should be getting into. And don't spam. Which means you can only advertise the same community once every six months, no more.
-Respect the other members. I reccomend ignoring oppinions that offend you. If you think there is something seriously wrong with someone's post, email me at deadwolveslikeme@gmail.com with a link to the thread and a specific complaint. I'll address the issue as soon as I can.
