Where Have All The Flowers Gone? (#72)
Title:Where Have All The Flowers Gone?
Author: [info]kerravonsen
Fandom: Doctor Who
Challenge: #72 Forgotten and Remembered
Words: 100
Summary: Where have all the graveyards gone? Gone to flowers, every one.

Inspired by the song of the same name.

The lake was beautiful. The light glittered on the water; a gentle breeze ruffled their hair. Rose picked the wildflowers that grew profusely in the grass.

"So, where is this?" she asked.

"Lake Sunnydale," the Doctor answered. "They say it's haunted." He pointed at the lake. "There used to be a town there. Then one day it was swallowed up, just like that."

"All those people!" She stepped to the edge of the lake, and placed her posy on the shore.

"What are you doing that for?"

"Humans put flowers on graves."

A smile crinkled his eyes. "So they do."

Thanks!

I was listening to "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?" on my random play, and it occurred to me that the Doctor could visit Sunnydale many years later, when this graveyard would have "gone to flowers".

*applause*

I encourage any and all DW crossovers.

The last bit really sounded like Nine to me. *grins*

Thank you!

I was a bit worried it wasn't enough like Nine, but I didn't want to do it with Ten, because he would have bounced too much, and it was a solemn occasion. 8-)
