Post from TrueNuff Blog

SpendMore.ca has been taking way too long so we decided to just rig up a temporary store solution (kind of biting RS3's style - sorry!) to sell shirts in the meantime. There are 4 different shirt designs for sale as well as some stickers that we usually give away at promotional events.

There are only Small to XLarge shirts but if you need 2XL or 3XL size please let us know 'cause we're probably gonna order a small batch of those and it'd be nice to know how much we need.

Also, like I've been saying our mailing list has become rickety and crotchety in it's old age. We're going to stop using it in favor of these subscription options so please hop on an RSS Feed or Email Update to stay in the loop.

The shirt just hit the fan.

ImageThings have been quiet on the TrueNuff TV! front so here's a flurry of small updates!

First up we've got a clean classic sketch pack over at YouTube. Just as we did with Facebook sketch we're going back and retroactively making clean versions of our older sketches. We're doing this for one of our affiliates who distributes our videos to mobile phones and 'cause we get the occasional complaint that people can't show these videos to their moms.

In this clean update we've got:If you don't like these censored versions then stick with our regular NSFW sketches - we're not f*cking forcing you to watch them, geeze!

Secondly we released a brand new mini called Voice Commands which is the last of the three mini's we shot a few months ago. We've gotta get our asses in gear and shoot a few more minis and sketches now.

That being said..

It's been two months since the last digest and things have gone fairly well with the exception of the last few weeks. However it's all sorted out now and we are ready to rock and roll.

If things go well in the next couple months we'll have a t-shirt for sale, and you'll be able to purchase prints for nearly all of the comics!

We hope January was as good for you as it was for us. Our YouTube account total downloads surpassed 8 million and we're doing well on our goal to pump out new content every 1-2 weeks! We've got a brand new website in development with some fun bells & whistles and we'll have some shirts for sale in February if things go alright.

Videos

  • We released Crappy Dinner at the beginning of this month - if you haven't watched it go do eet!
  • Last week we released Purse Snatcher, the first of what we're calling "TrueNuff TV! Mini's". These are smaller sketches that we will be releasing monthly in addition to our regular, longer traditional format sketches.
  • The January 2008 Video Update (first update of the year) has just been released. If you hate reading you should be watching that instead of reading this!
  • Our next video is titled "Facebook" and it will be released February 3, 2008!

We now have Email Delivery over at TrueNuff Comic.

You can now be emailed whenever a new comic goes live. this different from the Mailing List. Email Delivery delivers comics only while the Mailing List will continue to deliver news updates & newsletters. Sign up for either, or both - just stay in the loop!

The site has also been given a small face lift because our thrown together design has bugged me ever since our old website design was eaten when our old web host died. There is a whole new site that's been long in development, so consider this update an appetizer ;)

This is the first of what we're calling our TrueNuff TV! "Minis" - Micro sized, punchy sketches that we'll be releasing monthly in addition to our regular "long format" monthly sketches.

More TrueNuff TV! coming your way!

We hit our 500th comic on Thursday (thanks for the link Fleen!) and to mark the occasion we're releasing a wallpaper that jabs at the movie 300. It's been a while since we've done a movie spoof wallpaper so it was fun to get back into that groove.

This. Is. Arta!

If the 500th comic isn't trippy enough, we're coming up to TrueNuff Comic's 7th birthday in February. That's heavy stuff doc, we should do something special for then too - any suggestions?

If anyone wants to buy one or some of the Production Drawings for either the 500th comic, or #500 wallpaper lemme know - I'll split 'em up depending on how many people contact me. Also, we're looking into prints so people can order their favorite strips nicely printed on quality paper to frame, eat, or whatever - more on that later.

Big thanks whether you're a TrueNoob or TrueNut - thanks for reading, voting, posting, supporting and everything/anything else you've done for us. It makes makin' comics for you that much more enjoyable.

Here's to 500 more!

Cheers.

31 December 2007 @ 07:12 pm

December was a big month for TrueNuff TV! as we ramped up our productions to a new lofty goal of at least three new videos per month. One big sketch release, one smaller sketch or feature release and a monthly vlog styled "video update" to let you know what we're up to. We discussed that plan amongst us for the past few weeks, and rather than wait for the new year we'd thought it'd be better to end this year with a bang!

We've got more big goals for 2008 - more videos, a new site, and a DVD. As Cranston said it last month "More TrueNuff TV! comin' your way"

Thanks for watching, bring on the New Year!

Videos
  • Glacier Race
We unleashed this on YouTube two weeks ago and it seems to be one of our better received sketches. Check out this outtake if you want to see more Glacier Racing action.
  • TrueNuff TV! Bloopers 2007
Our bloopers have officially become a yearly thing. We had some good chuckles while skimming our tapes this year and it reminded us how much fun we have doing this stuff, so hopefully you will have a fun time watching it
  • Video Update: December 2007
We've released our second video update outlining what we've been up to in December!
Community News & Other News Bites
  • TrueNuff TV! + YouTube =
We've finally become a YouTube partner! In the past we'd upload new videos to our site first then YouTube a couple weeks later. Now we'll be uploading to YouTube first and foremost then the other sites a few weeks later.
  • Project Wonderful
We've signed up for Project Wonderful so you can now advertise on TrueNuff TV! for pennies a day!
  • Facebook: Battle of the Brands (Fan Profiles)
We've got a Facebook "fan" profile for TrueNuff Comic & TrueNuff TV! so you can show your support - be sure to join the TrueNuff Group as well.
  • Donations 2007
TrueNuff TV! made a series of contributions to a few different charities this season - read about them here, here and here!

28 December 2007 @ 03:58 pm

Six months ago TrueNuff Comic set out to return to the world of web comics. We've had false starts in the past but looking at our archives (2007 compared to 2006, 2005, 2004) it seems that we've managed to get the original magic back and throw some regularity your way.

Our server isn't overloading with millions of readers (yet?) but we're happy that we have the readers we have. The readers who post to the forums, email us encouragement and the readers who have been pushing us to come back after over three years of hiatus. Goddamn years man. Years. That's not normal. You guys just don't let things go. Also what's up with Australia? It seems we've got as many readers there as we do here in Canada. All of you are nuts and we love it - thank you.

Thanks for reading, thanks for supporting and thanks for giving a shit about our silly little web comic - it makes us happy.

Big thanks

I spent the better part of yesterday going through the TN Comic archive discs grabbing the old wallpapers to convert them into widescreen. Everyone (including myself) seems to be upgrading their displays to widescreen flat panels and what better way to dress up your LCD investment than with your favorite comic pals!

While I was at it I decided to add a few new wallpapers and some got facelifts and tweaks too. The artwork is kind of old on lots of them so I could only do so much. Huge thanks to The Rob for updating our out-of-date wallpaper gallery, this new one finally supports widescreen resolutions!

The Julie Gets a Job story has concluded, feel free to check out our behind-the-scenes development thread of the story if that tickles your fancy.

Finally, for the three of you who bought production drawing packs we signed them last night and they will be shipped out later today - big thanks!

All about the paper, mang

New Comics!

The "Julie Gets a Job" storyline is now 'up to date' with these three installments - you may also vote to see the next comic early!

Production Drawings

Long time readers (all 3 of you) may remember when we had donations for the comic and the donors would receive production drawings as a thanks for donating. Those production drawings have made their way back to the site, but this time around we're selling them as products. We're an actual company now and donations don't fit into the tax scheme.

If you're looking to support the comic in a financial way (that would be awesome) then buy some today!
