AboutNO FUCKING METALCORE/SCREAMO SHIT ALLOWED. IF YOU JOIN JUST SO YOU CAN PROMOTE YOUR SHITTY -CORE BAND, YOU WILL BE BANNED WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE.
This community was founded as a haven for true metalheads in Michigan. Most of the heavy music scene in this state is dominated by nu-metal, hardcore, metalcore, mallcore, and nu-core. Here, we may talk about upcoming concerts, local shows, our own bands, or just metal in general, without having to be annoyed by non-believers.
To join this community, PLEASE make an introductory post telling us a little about yourself, how old you are, where you're from, if you're in any bands, etc., and also LIST YOUR FIVE FAVORITE BANDS. This will give everyone else some idea of where your musical interests lie.
Also to join you must follow a few basic and obvious rules:
1) DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE. Basically, don't insult other members, don't disparage their musical taste (disparaging Limp Bizkit fans is fine, but let us not have infighting amongst our kind!), don't spew racist/sexist/homophobic crap, and don't be annoying.
2) STAY ON TOPIC. This community is about metal and that's about it. If you want to discuss the relationship of other subjects to metal (e.g. Satanism, war, Lord of the Rings, etc.) then that's ok, but let's not clog the forum up with people talking about their girlfriends, or arguing politics, or any other such shit.
3) POST ONCE IN AWHILE AND LEAVE COMMENTS ON OTHER PEOPLES' POSTS. Communities consisting of a bunch of monologues by one or two people are really boring. Please contribute! (within the boundaries of the above two rules)
...Now then, ranting aside, anyone who is a fan of REAL metal can join this community. Hell, if you want, you can join even if you're a fan of hardcore, nu-metal, emo, country, whatever, as long as you only talk about REAL metal in this community. I'm not going to bother defining "real metal" since most people who listen to it know what it is =P See the interests list if you're not sure.
