| Digital SLR for Sale Canon 10D + Grip, CF Card, 1 Week Only - $225 |
[30 Nov 2009|12:53am] |
For those local to me, I'm selling one of my digital cameras. It's upgrade time!
Anyway, here are the details:
Canon EOS 10D 6.3 MP Digital SLR, The Camera is in good condition and works well. Comes with the Canon battery grip that holds 2 batteries for longer shooting and provides a better grip and extra controls for vertical shots. It also comes with 2 batteries, a charger, the manuals, and a 1GB CF card. I estimate about 7,000 pictures taken (shutter actuations).
This is available for this week only. If I don't have a solid offer to buy it by Friday, it's off to eBay.
I live in Durham and work in Raleigh, so I can meet folks in either place.

So, I have an injured finger & need, urgent care says, to see an orthopedist for follow-up. Anyone in the Durham area know of an orthopedist that they particularly recommend? Thanks in advance!

| Thanksgiving - at Bogarts |
[21 Nov 2009|03:14pm] |
Hi guys - just thought I'd give you an update :)
I just made reservations at Bogarts American Grill for their Thanksgiving buffet. It's cheap ($30/each) plus the menu looks awesome.
So what's the consensus on Bogarts? I've been reading reviews but they're pretty mixed.

| Thanksgiving |
[20 Nov 2009|01:01pm] |
Hello my friends :)
I procrastinated & now I don't have plans for Thanksgiving.
Any restaurants open on this sacred turkey day? I've never been to Angus Barn (& they're booked). Anything else going on?
Cheers!

[19 Nov 2009|07:22pm] |

This little guy, who we've been calling 'Spenser' and 'The Noob', walked INTO our apartment a few weeks ago. He is about 6 months, we are guessing. We think he has been fixed, as well, but aren't positive. We, unfortunately, cannot have 3 cats in our apartment...and the other 2 were here first...so, he needs a new, loving home. I am trying to avoid putting him in a foster situation and just straight into a forever family. He is a wonderful, adoring cat who loves sitting in laps and snuggling. He is very clean ( I gave him a flea dip when we got him and there was nothing on him) and knows how to use the litter box. He also gets along GREAT with our 2 other cats, and I imagine he would also do just as well with dogs and even children. He is super adorable and if we could, we would keep him but we know that someone out there must love his little face as much as we do!
If you, or someone you know, is looking for a new friend--please leave a comment here for more info :) Thanks!!
[Edit:] Huge thanks to greatblueheron for giving Spenser his forever home!

| NC Postcards? |
[17 Nov 2009|04:17pm] |
Hello!
Any ideas where to get NC post cards in the Southpoint area? The only thing I can think of is the UNC bookstore, and I don't really want to drive on campus just for a postcard.
Many thanks!!

If you haven't seen it, I just wanted to point out there is a new Asian Market in the RTP area. It's name is Pan Asia Market. They have a good assortment of dry goods as well as some frozen items including fish, veggies, potstickers, etc.. The woman who runs it is REALLY nice and very accommodating. They are located in Brier Creek across from BJs and next to Radio Shack. They are open every day except Monday.
I have no affiliation with this store, I just wanted to point out a resource I believe has been requested on here before, and I like to see small businesses succeed.

| Beer! |
[13 Nov 2009|06:18pm] |
Hey guys, this sounds silly, but where can I buy BEER around here - other than the grocery store?
I was surprised to find out that the liquor stores don't sell it.
Preferably in Chapel Hill but anywhere in the area is fine. :)

| Shopping locally? |
[13 Nov 2009|01:17pm] |
Hi!
I'm just getting started on Christmas shopping, and since a lot of my friends are scattered around the country, I thought it would be nice to get them something authentically North Carolinian. Does anyone know of any good stores that sell the wares of local craftspeople and artisans? I'd like to keep the budget relatively limited, but higher-priced stuff is okay too.
We live in Raleigh, near NCSU, but are perfectly comfortable driving.
Thanks!

| Horseback Riding |
[09 Nov 2009|01:51pm] |
Where can I go horseback riding in the area?
I'm just looking for a place where I can rent a saddled horse & ride it around their farm/land or whatever.
I've googled around, but can only find places that offer lessons in various riding styles. I don't want lessons!
Thanks guys :)
