About
Dying to know every last detail about Pon Farr? Wondering how far down Trill spots go? What kind of analgesic cream would work on Borg-implant irritation anyway? And do they, in fact, still have sandwiches in the future?

In short, got questions about Star Trek canon? Then you've come to the right place! Modeled after [info]dwcanon_fodder, this community has been created to help new Trek fans (and even old fans who may need a refresher) navigate more than four decades' worth of canon.

Here's how it works: Members post canon questions, and other members reply if they've got canon answers. That's it!

We do have a few simple rules, though:

1. For the purposes of this community, everything is canon. Everything. Which means the five series (and the animated series), the movies, books, comics, tech manuals, and what-have-you. Unless the questioner specifies what subset of canon they want an answer from, any source for answers is fair game. With that said, citing those sources when answering a question is strongly encouraged.

2. Like it says on the tin: "No question too stupid." Any and all questions are welcome, so don't be afraid to ask.

3. No judgment will be passed on questions. Someone's reason for asking a specific question are their own.

4. There are lots and lots of other places to post fic, graphics, news, introduction posts, squee, rants, and so on -- not here. We've got a pretty narrow mandate: This is the place where you can ask canon questions and get answers.

Many thanks to [info]calapine for granting her permission to borrow from [info]dwcanon_fodder's rules.

Note on tags: No need to worry adding them to your post. For the time being, the mods will manage tagging. (This seemed the best way to keep them organized.)

Any questions or concerns about the comm? Need to contact a mod? Leave a comment at the Page-a-Mod post and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
