• what IS this insanity you ask? The travelingheadproject is an ongoing experiment in social behavior. It is a work of art, continually expanding through the photographs, ideas and hard work of creative individuals worldwide. It is an attempt to follow and document the 'life' of the head and, more importantly, the lives of those it comes in contact with. The project is open to anyone (worldwide) with a camera!!
  
  
• how did this crazy project get started? The idea for the project actually started out as a joke. The original idea (to merely send the head around the world) was something that I mentioned to my brother after finding the head at a local thrift store. Through the work of similar projects, like that of the 1000journals project, I began to realize that the travelinghead.com project had the potential to become something amazing.. at exactly 12:37pm on Saturday, December 7th, 2002... the travelinghead project was born.
  
  
• how do i get the head? The first step in aquiring the head is to register on the website. Once you've done that, you can Log In (option not yet available) and sign up for your place in line. The project is on a 'first come, first serve' basis so the earlier you register, the better chance you have of getting the head. Just remember that by signing up for the head, you are responsible for mailing it to the next person in line.
  
  
  
• what can i do to help? what a GREAT question! for one... you can help advertise the project. tell your friends about this zany, off-the-wall, kinda weird art project going on. send them the link. motivate them. blah blah blah. then... here's the fun part. you can be the owner of your very own travelingheadproject banner. you can put it anywhere that HTML is accepted! isn't that exciting? put it up in your personal journal. put it on your website. put it on other peoples websites (with their permission of course!)
