| Bread and Butter |
[Jul. 11th, 2009|10:34 am] |
One of my favorite trashy eats lately is just plain white bread slathered in an inch of butter. Tell me I'm not the only one!?!?
As an added bonus, the crappy POS that passes for my butter dish. Yes.....that's just a glass over a stick of butter. I need to go down to Walmart and spend $1 for a real one.

| Calzone with spaghetti bolognese inside |

We went to the local pizzaria for lunch today and this is what my husband ordered, I had the calzone with ham, pepperoni and cocktail sausages in it.

| Corn? |
[Jul. 11th, 2009|09:17 am] |
I have one corncob left. What can I do with it for lunch? I have absolutely no ideas. Can be very trashy, sweet or savoury, I don't care, I just want to get rid of this thing, it has been in the fridge way too long. Thanks!
[edit:] Thank you guys for the yummy tips. I ended up covering it in HP sauce, roll it in all herbs I could find, then broiling it in my sandwich maker/mini-BBQ-thing. Served with ready-made potatoe-salad. Yum. |

| Kool Aid Pickles? |
[Jul. 9th, 2009|10:46 pm] |
I figured this was the best place to ask, so here goes.
I'm thinking about trying my hand at Kool-Aid pickles this weekend.
Anybody have a really good recipe? If I end up making a huge-ass jar of them, I want to have something tried & true to go off of.
Thanks in advance! |

A while back I posted about crescent roll bars with cream cheese filling. Instead I made crescent rolls with the cheese filling and canned cherries. ( pics in here )
They turned out OK; satisfied my craving for cheese danish, but the texture was all wrong. I probably wont' make them again unless I can make the filling smooth. |

Chicken flavored ramen noodles, frozen broccoli, dried garlic, mushroom flavored pasta sauce, parmesan cheese, and hot sauce. Served with a healthy glass of high fructose corn syrup/ginger ale. |

| Bread Parmesan and Cheddar |
[Jul. 7th, 2009|01:16 pm] |
Here's a quick and trashy snack.
1) Toast up two slices of bread (I used wheat bread, but any kind of bread should work.).
2) Spread salsa on one slice and tomato sauce on the other.
3) Put grated cheddar cheese on top of the salsa and put parmesan on top of the tomato sauce.
4) Microwave both slices for about 45 seconds (Or until the cheese melts.)
5) Serve with soda and enjoy! |

| Fruit Loop Cake |

No pictures cause our guests ate all but I made a jello cake that tasted exactly like fruit loops. Take one lemon cake baked according to directions, pour over raspberry jello not yet set and let it sit until chilled. Before serving, spread over one tub of cool whip. It was awesomely trashy! |

| Mexican Pizza |
[Jul. 5th, 2009|03:41 pm] |
A while back I started thinking that pizza and the trashy food I loved from the fast food and pizza places was getting way too expensive, along with that they were super high in sodium, something I was and still am trying to limit my sodium intake. My goal was to make 30 different kinds of pizzas myself and make it better than they did.
While many may think this isn't trashy, I think that trashy food should have a category for make it at home trashy favorites. So I'm trying to do it better than taco bell here with my mexican pizza.

Chorizo, black beans, salsa, corn, green and red bell pepper, onions, and a mexican cheese blend of cheese which was a sargento package. |

Happy day-after-the-Fourth, Americans! Yesterday I attended a White Trash party. It was good.
Tonight I am eating a trashy dinner. I fried up some onion, garlic, aubergine (eggplant) and mushroom, and boiled some rice, to the water of which I had added a chicken stock cube and some chicken gravy granules. Threw the veg into the water after they were browned, simmered, drained the rice, and added a leftover packet of Mee Goreng oil (not a seasoning packet - that much salt might kill) and a splash of soy sauce. Delllish. |
