trans_relshps is a community for trans people and their partners to discuss issues pertaining to relationships.This community is open to trans people at any stage of transition and those in relationships with trans people of any type or length. However, this community is intended to be geared toward questions and discussions that often occur past the initial stages of coming out and accepting a partner's identity. Possible topics of discussion include marriage, children, communication, sexuality and intimacy, sexual function, surgery, support spaces, legal issues, healthcare, disclosure, evolving identities and so on.
This is a community for trans people and their partners (both trans and not) regardless of sexual orientation.
This is not a dating/pickup community or a community for those who would like to date trans people.
Because this is a community for trans people and their partners, both partners of a couple may be in this community. Please keep this conference as drama-free as possible by being mindful that
trans_relshps is a public community and personal drama should not be a part of it. Also, please do not use identifying information to describe your partner unless it has been previously agreed upon.Some rules borrowed (and slightly modified) from
ftm:1. No personal attacks on others.
2. Please speak from your own experiences and avoid speaking for others.
3. Constructive criticism of something that someone else says is fine; flat-out insulting someone is not.
4. Transphobia of any kind will not be tolerated here, nor will prejudice against any generalized group of people (i.e. homophobia/heterosexism, racism, classism, sexism, etc.) Posts or comments that contain blatant hate speech will be removed. Individuals who post hate speech will be warned once and on the second occasion will be banned. Comments or posts that serve no purpose but to make fun of others will be treated as hate speech.
5. Very long posts (over 40 lines) and any images should be placed under a lj cut tag or the post will be deleted. Unless there are other major problems with the post, you will have 24 hours to cut and repost before a moderator removes it. Anything sexually explicit, not work safe, and/or possibly triggering should also be behind a cut tag. There should be a note in front of the tag indicating why it has been cut. Links to sites and communities that are sexually explicit and/or not work safe should be indicated as such.
6. If you have a response to a specific post, respond in the comments section of that post; do not make a new post to follow up on any discussion that is less than a week old. Similarly, don't continue conversations from a previous post in someone else's unrelated post.
7. Please keep posts related to trans relationship issues. Posts that are greatly off-topic or that advertise irrelevant communities will be removed.
