Aboutwe like setting good examples, for example we like setting things on fire. while we are setting things on fire we need good music to listen to, that is why we make mixes. mixes come in all varieties, not just strawberry, chocolate or vanilla. this is not cold stone creamery, we are not a "mix in's" community. we are a mix tape community.
the central idea is to make a mix and send it to someone who might appreciate it, in return they must return the favor and send you a mix of their own. lather, rinse, repeat.
the beauty of mixtapes
- finding the time to sit and listen to the whole thing in one complete sitting
- exposing yourself to music you may have otherwise never have had the chance to hear
- bonding over a song
outline:
- community was formed under the idea that people would like to share mixes with friends or strangers. members will make a mix to trade with others and then post a message stating that they have a mix available for trading. replies should follow with address.
- once mix is received via mail / hand delivered, recipient is required to make a mix in return so that both parties can experience each other's music tastes.
acceptable forms of mixes:
- cassette tapes / compact discs / digital mixes (i.e. muxtape / mediafire zipped files / seeqpod playlists)
- mixes can be shared through EMAIL / SNAIL MAIL / LJ POST / other ways we haven't thought up yet
- your input is encouraged, as this is a community and everyone's opinion will only serve to make things run at their best
so join, make tapes, make cds, make time, you might end up smiling a good amount. you might even make new friends.
