In the spirit of Kay Jamison's book, Touched with Fire, which is a study of well-known artists afflicted with manic-depressive disease, or rather "[manic-depression] and the artistic temperament", this is a community for artists with manic-depression (bipolar disorder) and other mental illnesses.
The purpose of the community is to post writing, photography, art, etc. for feedback and to discuss amongst ourselves our work and our illness(es). Though the specific focus is on manic-depression, artists with unipolar depression and other like illnesses are equally encouraged and welcome to join.
