Sixth Division, Afternoon

Byakuya waited in his office for Ukitake. One of the servants had brought tea and cups, and he trusted that the older Captain would join him before the tea could grow cold.

He would not have cared to admit how surprised he had been by the other Captain's flared reiatsu -- after all, open displays of shock were inappropriate to his rank and position. (He suspected, however, that lesser shinigami around the Division were still trying to find out what had happened.)

He made a mental vow that he was not going to discuss Rukia with the older man.

After all, it wasn't as if he had anything to say on the subject. And certainly not to Rukia's Captain.

Brief note on Holes

While anyone with spiritual potential (ie, all series characters) can see a Hole if it is within normal visual line of sight, to locate them at a distance you need one of the devices produced by Urahara, Mayuri, or Szayel.

(Naturally, these devices are prototypes, have flaws, and may not work perfectly.)

Karakura Town, Abandoned Warehouse, Night

It's been a few days since Chad replied to that Hell Butterfly, and now he found himself in the aforementioned warehouse. He hadn't sensed any great sources of reiatsu tonight, so he figured it would be safe to do some practice. And he'd spent long enough picking out the location to know when it would be a good idea to train and when to lay low.

With a few moments concentration, he calls his armor forth. It momentarily appears to lose its form, but it does finally solidify into the new shape. For now, he'd practice just keeping it around through a few attacks.

He was sticking to targets inside the building, large crates and stockpiles of excess building material.

3rd Division Housing

Kira squints at the sky walking out of his rooms feeling particularly optimistic today for some reason. Perhaps it was the sun, or maybe it was waking up before his alarm, or even that he had managed to sit and enjoy his breakfast this morning, but whatever it was it made him feel a little more hopeful. The blonde decides to use this newfound hope, and its resulting energy to do something he has been putting off for some time now. He is going to clean out Ichimaru-taichou’s old chambers. No one from the 2nd had been around in a while to poke through the mess left behind and it was time, Kira feels, that it was all boxed up and disposed of.

Today he decides in the day he will finally start healing, today he will try to start moving on. He slides open the door of the abandoned Captains quarters and his shoulders instantly sag. It is a disaster in there. Papers thrown everywhere, dirty clothes, uniforms, and bedding mixed among the papers and bits of fluff. Someone had torn open the pillows and there were feathers everywhere, and something had been spilled on the tatami and left to mold. The smell was overwhelming. Kira was defiantly going to need some help cleaning this mess up. So much for his perfect day.

(OOC: feel free to jump in and help Kira clean up the mess….or just laugh at him when he is covered in feathers and moldy flooring LOL…whatever…)

Soi Fong leads Zaraki to her office. Features that he might notice include the nightingale boards in the corridor outside, the soundproofed atmosphere inside the office, and similar things that one might expect of the Covert Operations types.

She gestures him to a seat. She hasn't tried to remove Yachiru (possibly guessing how futile it would be), though her eyes have flicked more than once to Yachiru's empty sash.

"All right," she says. "What happened, Zaraki-taichou?"

Looking for Shunsui

Ukitake-taichou is off on a familiar quest, looking for his friend, Shunsui.

There are rumors adrift, and he's looking to see if Ise-fukutaichou really is all right as well as to strategize a little with his friend about what to do about these blasted holes. So he's up on the roof, first, as it's easier to start in the most likely of spots rather than the least, which is his friend's office.

Hueco Mundo, Las Noches, Time STILL Uncertain

While he's glad that the pink-haired Arrancar is gone, Szayel has left Yumichika in a state of deep unsettlement. Whatever reaction he'd been expecting, it definitely hadn't been this. Something more along the lines of shaking ruffled feathers and a huffy storming out, probably. Certainly not an uncomfortable amount of chuckling. Definitely not leaving without getting in a last word - Szayel struck Yumichika as someone who always had to have things his way.

So when he turns around and finds that the door has been left open, he is immediately suspicious. He is also dying to see if there's anything more to Las Noches than this dreadful room, which puts him in a very interesting dilemma indeed.

He stares at the open door in silence, carefully considering his situation from every angle imaginable. Finally, he loses his patience and, fed up with his lack of activity, recklessly marches out of the room. Once through the doorway, his hesitation drains away, to be replaced with his customary arrogant boldness.

Maybe he'd just go find Aizen himself.

Seireitei, Sixth Division

Balancing the Division accounts can hardly be called creative work, but it's very useful for jogging your memory. For example, the recent invoice from Urahara Shoten, including gigai for three, reminds Nanao that she should find out whatever happened  to that nifty little Hole locator. Since her schedule is clear for the afternoon, she might as well take the opportunity to visit Sixth and find out for herself.

After going through the usual procedure at the gate, she steps into the courtyard and heads for the Vice-Captain's office.

Seireitei, Early Afternoon

In a weird (very weird) sort of way, Ichigo thinks, it's kind of nice to be back here. Despite the fact that he's moseying around in a tee shirt and jeans (and a pair of waraji he bummed off one of the corpsmen back at the Fourth) there's part of him that feels like he belongs here.

And there's a thought that chips away at that whole weird-but-nice feeling. There's something going on with him--something besides that smart-mouthed pale bastard living in his head--that started, no, that simply started picking up steam when he met Rukia for the first time.

Still, it's kind of nice seeing this place without having to worry that someone is going to kill him.

Ichigo pauses, trying to recall what he heard about Zaraki and whether or not the psycho was here or fallen down a Hole. He pauses just a little bit more, holding his breath, but there's no crushing wave of killer intent coming his way.

So, maybe he's safe. Meanwhile, he may as well explore until he gets the signal that a gate to the living world is about to open. He was a little taken aback that they wouldn't just open one for him and him alone, but he supposes he can see their point.

The room is a very nice room. It is a plain white room. It has a soft sofa in it, on which Yumichika is currently lying as he returns to consciousness. Yumichika himself has been bandaged; there are no open wounds, even though he doesn't seem to have been given any kidou healing.

There aren't any sharp edges in the room.

Aizen is sitting on a chair opposite where Yumichika is lying. He holds Fujikujaku in his lap, turning it over thoughtfully as he waits for Yumichika to wake.

Everything is very quiet.
