Toronto Zombie Walk 2006 in pictures
Thankfully, yesterday's zombie outbreak in the heart of the downtown core was successfully yet mysteriously contained. Here's some photos of Toronto Zombiewalk 2006.

That's [info]toronto's own [info]rocketbox in the blue dress and pink hair, as it turns out. :)

Hmm, someone's missed a step...

Not everyone will get this costume, but those who do (like myself) applauded wildly for the guy. He even made the right sounds.

A very many people came out. Two hundredish? Anyone do a headcount?

Being an intrepid photojournalist can sometimes be quite hazardous.

AUGH!

She wants me. Clearly.

Miss Cadaver cemented her claim on her crown in the congeniality category.

Probably the best photo I took all day. Messed up the vast majority of them due to one-handing the camera and holding an umbrella at the same time. F%*k.

Spontaneous and quite unplanned swarming of a Queen St. W streetcar as the zombie horde headed west. There were four police officers in two squad cars about a hundred feet back from this scene, looking on in amazement/disbelief/amusement. It was pretty funny.

The streetcar driver goosed the accelerator to make a getaway. The Rocket lives up to its name.

That's all! Check out the full gallery for more photos and at larger sizes.

Note to self: pay attention to things advertised in [info]toronto

As a Toronto Afterdark volunteer, I must say I enjoyed watching the zombies for about half an hour milling around the Bloor and the MAD confusion on everybodys faces, especially the sunday-shopping-late lunch crowd :D

I spotted and talked to a number of other SLR camera-carrying folk at Nathan Philips Square. At least a half dozen. :)

I don't understand his costume, and I want to. Someone please enlighten me?

In the top two photos of this post, you can see a cop at the back of the group. But if you go to the album, you'll see it's really a zombie cop - cool! And in one photo, the zombie cop has a gun! I'm amazed that didn't cause some problems, somewhere along the walk...

I have more shots of him, but again due to one-handing the camera they're mostly blurry. At one point he yelled, "Let's storm City Hall!" and loped off towards the buildings with a (fake) gun head above his head, pulling the trigger repeatedly.

Seriously, I'm amazed a real cop didn't take him down. I remember 15 years ago I was dress as a 'thug' with a fake gun tucked into my waistband, just bar-hopping on Hallowe'en, and no less than three cops make a point of checking that the gun was plastic.

Are you sure you were not a french dancing pirate zombie?

No, I can only flog three sterotypes at a time. So I can be a french pirate (dancing if neccesary!), or a dancing zombie pirate, or any other permutation of the three (french zombie dancer? maybe?), but four makes my head explode.

These arent all of the ones I took, just some of the best ones...and as it appears, I was trailing you most of the time, because we have alot of the same photos, but mine are different angles or a little further back in the horde

Wow, I'm missing more than I knew having moved south. You'll have to send me the link to the entire album... I know you, there must be more where these came from. :)
