| General News: Live Unchained Seeking Submissions |
[Mar. 5th, 2009|08:58 pm] |
Live Unchained is a multi-media anthology/treasury created for and by black women across the African Diaspora. This project involves a multi-media approach to include diverse modes of personal and artistic expression. Some women capture moments with ink and paper, while others use imagery, sound and movement. To acknowledge this complexity, we chose to seek out and accept various mediums of creative expression. Women can submit non-fiction writing, personal essays, poetry, short stories, music, digital art, comics, live performances and whatever else they choose to impress us with. The final product will be a book with CD and DVD insert. We will organize the collection thematically, based on the submissions we receive.
Please submit your contributions and/or suggestions to:

Trotman talks Templar By Brigid Alverson

Not everyone can pull that off, but Charlie Trotman earns a living from her Web comic, Templar, Arizona, despite the fact that the entire comic is available online at no cost. Not only that, Trotman just self-published the second print volume of Templar, and she is in a position any publisher would envy: The book was completely paid for before she sent it to the printer.
