Was on the subway this morning and saw an advertisement for LifeFest, an upcoming health and beauty convention to be held at the Toronto Convention Centre on April 4-6... CariDee English, winner of of ANTM Cycle 7 is listed as one of the guest speakers... Here's the little blurb about her:


CariDee English — From Top Model to Role Model

America's Next Top Model Winner and Cover Girl model CariDee English reflects on her battle with psoriasis and her rise to the top

Cursed. Anxious. Alone. Those were just some of the feelings that America's Next Top Model CariDee English used to describe living with psoriasis, a disease of the immune system characterized by inflamed patches of skin (lesions) topped with silvery white scales that covered 70% of her body.

CariDee dreamed of acting and modeling her entire life, but by the time she was diagnosed with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, her dreams were all but shattered. CariDee tried to hide her skin condition with make-up or nylons but the disease was still visible during modeling shoots, and despite her best efforts she soon found herself on a plane home.

In April 2008, America's Next Top Model (Cycle 7) winner and Cover Girl model CariDee English will be in Canada to share her story and raise awareness of psoriasis and the Psoriasis Education Program (PEP). PEP is a national public awareness program that provides comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-access non-commercial information to Canadian patients, families, healthcare professionals and the general public; online at psoriasisinfo.ca.
