That's great I hope alan likes this site and I am glad that you finally made a new journal entry crossoverman

Thanks to that link to Brooklyn South my list now has 218 shows connected to Tommy's Mind ranging from The Adventures of Champion to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Combined with the 282 and the 100 that are currently in the journal this would bring the number of shows to an equal 600

By the way if your reading this JohnMunch could you help me find connections to 2 German shows thant have found there way onto the list Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei and Alarm für Cobra 11 - Einsatz für Team 2

Thank

What are the supposed connections for the Cobra 11 shows?
How did they end up on your list?
What are those 218 shows you got? Care to post them?

And how could I overlook Brooklyn South?

You know what kind of help I need, finding German shows that a that they crossed-over with, that they referenced as being in the same universe, that they reused the props or sets of, pretty much anything that would bring them into Tommy's mind

I would like to post my list, which is now up to 230, and was originally going to post it once the site was updated, but it's been 5 month since I started and the list is now 9 pages long, I would be willing to post it now if westphallian or crossoverman created a new journal entry for it, because of the site's current low traffic I am afraid of many people would look at it if it was posted in a post

However I will post parts of my list that show how shows from your home country ended up on it complete with my id numbers

The fictional local Los Angeles tv station KBEX which was shown regularly on Charley Angels 78 has also appeared on Starsky & Hutch 79, The Brady Bunch, $weepstake$ 80, Barnaby Jones 81, MacGyver 82, and What's Happening 83

The fictional country of San Marco, which The A-Team 182, regularly visited also, appeared on MacGyver, and the German show Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei 183

don't fell bad I also overlooked Brooklyn South, but I did find room to include shows like The Duck Factory and Hypernauts.

Tell me what you think

You count props and sets?

Oh.

I do not watch the Cobra 11 shows. I know their statistics and little more.

In case you included Dallas/Knots Landing, the German show "Ein Schloss am Wörthersee" had a cameo appearance of both J.R. and Sue Ellen. Otherwise, I'm drawing blanks.

This is due to my working method which calls for examining the shows I have listed episode by episode 'in an ever-widening gyre' looking for character cameos. And thus far I have covered US shows and nothing much else.

Hypernauts? The mind boggles.

The posting of your list would help imnmensely - see below.

A couple of Doctor Who connections...
(Anonymous)
2008-03-05 04:00 am UTC (link)
A couple of quick Doctor Who connections:

The "British Rocket Group" is mentioned in episodes of both the old Doctor Who series ("Remembrance of the Daleks") as well as the new series ("The Christmas Invasion"). It is also mentioned that a certain "Bernard" is involved in this British Rocket Group in the first of those episodes. These are references to the classic Britsh sci-fi Quatermass serials - "The Quatermass Experiment" (1953), "Quatermass II" (1955), "Quatermass and the Pit" (1958) and "Quatermass" (1979) - as well as to the lead character Bernard Quatermass, who indeed is the head of the British Rocket Group. The Wikipedia articles on the two Doctor Who serials point out the connection...

The second (for the moment potential) connection is that Torchwood is apparently going to get a mention on the upcoming season of the British sci-fi series Primeval. If this does indeed happen, that will connect yet another British series...

(And I do think you should count the Doctor Who/Eastenders crossover, even though it was just a charity special. After all, actors from both series were acting *in character* for the program)

Cannon & Barnaby Jones
[info]johnmunch
2008-03-16 06:22 pm UTC (link)
Another point against 'Movies Don Not Count' ...

The beverly Hillbillies got a movie treatment in 1994, and while most agree that the feature compared badly to the original TV show some noticed a neat cameo by Buddy Ebsen (the original Jed Clampett).

Only - he played Banaby Jones, aging PI hero of the eponymous TV show which ran for seven and a half seasons from Jnauary 1973 to April 1980. Barnaby Jones can be considered a spin-off from 'Cannon' since the William Conrad-played PI appeared in Barnaby´s pilot episode.

Back to the movie: Since the Clampetts and company were played by new actors, Mr. Ebsen could not possibly resume his Jed part again (the original show started thirty years before the movie). To me, his Barnaby appearance in the movie serves as a nod to both his signature characters, and this is good enough for me to include Barnaby Jones and Cannon in my next Wanderers' update.

What do you think?

Today my list reached 282 with addition of Twin Peaks and Northern Exposure, however it can still grow bigger.

I have read several places that St. Elsewhere would often page doctors from other medical shows over there PA system, however I could not find any more information on it, douse anybody know who was paged.

I still have work to do on the list, like adding characters named Robot played by Robby, and shows were Mayberry was seen, I hope one day Tommy's mind will have 1000 shows

How do you get Twin Peaks and Northern Exposure in? I know the link between the two - although it makes no sense. But how does it link to the Tommyverse.

I don't know if St E did the intercom thing, but other shows are in because they intercommed St E doctors.

Not sure whether The Brady Bunch Hour counts as a drama show with some bad music or as a variety show, but ...

... does anybody here remember a guy named Rerun and his buddies?

Apparently, they were the stars of 'What´s Happening!!' and its sequel show, 'Whats Happening Now?'.

And they appeared in ep.#7 of TBBH.

Another two notches for Tommy.

Connecting Tommy´s Mind and the Warnerverse ...
[info]johnmunch
2008-04-03 10:44 am UTC (link)
... via the movie Back to the Beach (1987).

Yes, certain movies should count, and this Funicello/Avalon film which parodies the beach movies of the sixties has cameo appearances of Bob Denver (Gilligan), Alan Hale Jr. (Skipper), Edd Byrnes (Kookie), and Don Adams (Maxwell Smart) - to name just a few. They appear unnamed but in character. Hale asks his 'little buddy' Denver along for 'just another three-hour trip', Byrnes is a valet, and Adams behaves suspiciously.

So, this links Gilligan to Kookie of 77 Sunset Strip. The latter spun off Hawaiian Eye, Surfside Six, and Bourbon Street Beat. An ancestor of Kookie, also played by Byrnes and wielding a mean comb appeared in Maverick's ep.#88 "Hadley´s Hunters" which has cameos of the Lawman and his deputy, the loner Cheyenne, Bronco, and Sugarfoot.

The latter crossed over with Christopher Colt of Colt.45. Cheyenne spun-off 'The Dakotas' and later appeared in The Gambler: Luck of the Draw. That one had cameos of the Rifleman, the Westerner, Caine of Kung Fu fame, Wyatt Earp (who appeared later in 'Paradise'), and Bat Masterson.

If we want to take the movie connection two more steps further we have to take close looks at 'Alias Jesse James' and 'Maverick' (1994), both of which feature a plethora of cameos.

What do you think?

This is a better connection then they one I have on my list, now at 320, which involves The Incredible Hulk, Galactica 1980, and V all reusing footage from the movie Earthquake

When are we going to see a new Wanderers it's been almost a year since you updated it and you might be able to use some people from my list like Mr. French and J.R. Ewing

UBS was the network in "Network". But along with 'Studio 60', NBS could be a network in 'Odyssey 5'. They had a station that could have been an O&O by the call letters WNBS. Of course, that's just hypothetical....

NBC's "Chuck" needs to be in the chart
(Anonymous)
2008-06-03 08:37 pm UTC (link)
On the Season 1, Episode 2 episode of "Chuck" on NBC, entitled "Chuck versus the helicopter", the title character mentions that he has knowledge of what made Oceanic 815 crash. It is not a reference to the show "Lost", but is treated as if what happened in "Lost" is real in the "Chuck" universe, so it fits here.

Next Sunday (June 15), Mary McCormack's character of Mary Shannon from "In Plain Sight" will be making a cameo appearance on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" just before her show airs.

So that'll make a tighter connection to the Westphallian TV Universe than the issue of Playpen magazine from the premiere.

The Chronicle?
(Anonymous)
2008-06-19 01:46 am UTC (link)
Okay, are we even considering The Chronicle? It was a short-lived series on the Sci-Fi Channel that referenced SF's other show, The Invisible Man, had a crossover with Big Trouble in Little China (Yes, it's a feature film), and referenced Star Trek.
The Star Trek reference went like this: in the episode Pig Boy's Big Adventure, the villian was a Harcourt Fenton. This is clearly referring to Harcourt Fenton "Harry" Mudd, the recurring character on ST. I, as well as Wold-Newton folks, would argue that this is a crossover.
From there, The Invisible Man referenced Doctor Who several times in its pilot, even to the point of featuring a card with the name I.M. Foreman on it, the first known alias of the Doctor.
IM also implicitly featured Tom from Prey in the episode Exposed.
