The director of Stomp the Yard and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, Sylvain White, is the new director for the upcoming movie Castlevania based on Konami's games of the same name.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty excited that a director great enough to work on Stomp the Yard will be taking on one of the best series of all time. I think the only way we could do any better would be to go with Eli Roth.
But anyway, Sylvain White had the following to say about why he took on the job. "Most of the vampire films have been present or set in the future, from 'Blade' to 'Underworld,' and I was attracted by the chance to make a dark, epic period movie that almost has an anime feel to it."
The script apparently revolves around a Transylvanian knight leading his troups into a castle to seek refuge, and discovering that it is inhabited by the original vampire. Some from the Belmont family is apparently supposed to play a part as well - could this be the Trasylvanian knight?
Anyway, I'm disappointed in the choice of director, but there is still a bit of hope for the movie. We'll have to wait and see. Keep checking back for more news.
