AboutWelcome. Togakushi Shrine is a community dedicaced to the manga X/1999 by Clamp, as well as the series that crossover it (Tokyo Babylon, Clamp School Detectives etc.) It is mainly for posting and reccomanding Fanfictions, and Discussing about the canon and the characters. Feel free to post works in progress, recommend favorite stories (or your own), ask questions about specific points of the manga, or anything else related to X fanfiction.
There is both good and bad to be found in the X fandom, and feel free to discuss either aspect. Praise brilliant fics or rant about bad ones. Just please remember that opinions will differ, and respect those who don't agree with you. (Please, let's not aim to appear on Fandom Wank. ^_~)
When posting a completed fic, work-in-progress, or other entry of substantial length, please use LJ-cut tags. Also, if you intend to post more than once in a short period of time, don't. Post it all in ONE post or wait for the next day to post again. It's just thoughtful behavior toward everyone who watches the community. Especially when posting to MANY communities.
When participating in the community writing challenge, please observe the following rules:
1)Post your fic as a new entry
2)Provide a link or use LJ-cut tags
3)Use proper spelling/grammar/punctuation (Proofread and Spellcheck!)
If you'd like to plug your fic or someone else's, please provide the following information:
1) Title
2) Author
3) Link
4) Characters/Pairings
5) Genre
6) Brief summary

We issue a weekly fanfiction challenge for anyone to participate in. Challenges are now posted only by the mods but you are free to make a suggestion on this screened post. We won't promise to pick every one, mind you.
Some quick guidelines for posting challenges...be general. We're trying to inspire good stories, not force others to write the story we want to but can't. Also, for time limits and word count, here is a general idea of how that could work.
under 500 words = three days
500-1500 words = one week
over 1500 words = two weeks (and the mods will issue a mini challenge the next thursday)
If it is a particularly easy or difficult challenge, feel free to bend those guidelines, but it should be a good rule of thumb when issuing a challenge.
Feel free to ask questions. The only stupid question is the one you never asked.
Discussions
Every week a specific subject is posted to discuss on the community. Current discussions are about Writing Techniques (formerly they've been about Characters from X/1999). Don't hesitate to participate to those discussions and give your own ideas.
