AboutToby Stephens, born April 21, 1969, is the son of the late Sir Robert Stephens and Dame Maggie Smith. He won the Sir John Gielgud prize for Best Actor and the Ian Charleson Award for his performance in the title role of "Coriolanus" at the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1994. His most recent on-stage appearance was as Hamlet with the Royal Shakespeare Company. e made his screen debut in Sally Potter's "Orlando"; played Orsino in Trevor Nunn's "Twelfth Night", Lensky in "Onegin", and Fergus Wolfe in "Possession." He joined the company of Bond villains as Gustav Graves in "Die Another Day" and most recently appeared in a Bollywood epic called "Mangal Pandey: The Rising" as a sympathetic Scots officer in the East India Company's army. His TV appearances include Gilbert Markham in "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall"; Jay Gatsby in "The Great Gatsby" and Kim Philby in "Cambridge Spies."
