There's been some talk lately (mainly at Jordan & Sythe's meet last month and the meet today at Borders) about organizing the Knoxville area furry community more, getting more regular meets going and so forth. In particular, the idea was brought up today to form a Knoxville furry website with forums and perhaps its own list. Not to offend our friends in other parts of the state, but you're kind of stealing all the action. ;) (Which just means you're better organized than us. :p)

This site wouldn't be intended as a replacement for the TNFur list, but mainly as an addendum, something for the Knoxville furs to use to be more active, but keeping the signal/noise ratio acceptable for both groups.

The Knoxville furry community has been pretty quiet these last few years, but there seem to be more and more of us showing up all of a sudden. I think it's a good idea, and I am more than willing to handle the technical side of things if anyone is in favor of this.

Well hello there furries of the great state of Tennessee. My current jobless situation is causing me to examine all of my options. Since I am considerably closer to Nashville than I was in Buffalo, my chances of coming back if I can secure a position with Hyatt are quite high. HOWEVER, I would need to secure lodging as well. So, if any of you nashfurs are watching, I would love your assistance on the matter. Even if it's just a couch for a week or so while I find a room for rent or whatever, I will take what I can get.

Just to make it clear, this is all preliminary and depends completely on me being able to return to Hyatt. If I can't get the job back, then it's a no...but if I do, it's almost certain that I will be returning. As much as I don't want to leave my partner here, I also don't want to have to sponge off of him and my parents in order to live. I think you all see my dilemma.

Another pro to moving back to TN though is that I am already a proven resident of the state and can easily get federal and state level funding to go back to school...well maybe, lol. I do wanna go back to school though...so yeah.

Is anyone going to The Ren Fest on the 9th of may? o.o Me and my mate are going to be there and I was just wondering if any other furs were going to be showing. I'm a nashville fur and some of those that have been to bongo java may know me. My name is Ginger. I know Frocta knows me. >_< But I haven't been able to get out lately what with a baby on the way and my mate having to work constantly. ;_; But we are going to Ren Fest so just wanting to see if anyone else will be there.

The gathering that was held at Rabbits house last January, there was a game that some played, building cottages and getting various materials. IronTiger is wondering what the name of that game is. Could anyone remember and tell me the name please?

I am working on getting another big gathering for the beginning of June but don't have anything set yet. I had one cool idea but it is hitting multiple roadblocks.:( Another idea is waiting on more information. I am working on it and encourage any ideas (just remember many furs are not rich, and many furs tend to be night folks).

I did want to mention that this coming weekend is Dragon Days in Cookeville. I know Journye mentioned it to a few at the last big gathering but I don't think everyone heard about it. (and I only emailed the info to those that requested it, I won't abuse your email)
Dragon Days is a Renaissance Festival out in Cookeville, TN to be held the last weekend of April, this coming Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 10am to 6pm with admission being $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for kids under 12 Location is Hidden Hollow Park 1901 Mt Pleasant Rd. Cookeville, TN website is: http://www.pendragonscastle.com/hiddenhollow/dragondays/ and this year they feature Johnny Phoenix (one of my favorite performers from TN Ren Fest)

I know Leonato, Journye and Ben all said they plan to go Saturday and Leonato, Journye, IronTiger and myself (PrincessB) all plan to attend Sunday.
Anyone else plan to attend maybe we could meet at some point, maybe eat lunch together or something. None of us have attended Dragon Days before so we don't know what it will be like exactly.

Anyone else thinking about attending?

Does anybody here have any interest in going to the Nashville Earth Day celebration this Saturday, downtown in Nashville at Centennial Park, around the Parthenon? The event goes until 7:00 PM on Saturday, and though I do not plan to stay all day, it might be cool to check out. I was thinking a group could head that way about 2:00 PM or so, after coffee at Bongo Java, if furs are interested? Bongo Java is pretty close to Centennial Park, so it would only be a short drive from one to the other. Thoughts?

Thanks everyone who showed up to the picnic yesterday. I had an awesome time there with everyone. It was good to met everyone I had not met before, so many cool furs there. I certainly hope we can keep in touch and do more things together everyone. You all rock!

The basic location is Columbia, TN but you will need to contact me for exact location because the fur hosting it doesn't want their address broad casted everywhere. Also it is a nice neighborhood so the host request that overly furriness be kept inside and that you represent the furry fandom in a good light and not be disrespectful to the neighborhood. Also request no alcohol, it is possible to have fun without alcohol!

The host does not own a tv or coffee pot so if you desire either you will have to bring with. Meaning if you want to bring a video game system you will also need to bring a tv, if you want coffee you will need to bring pot and coffee, it will not be provided.

Basically bring games, food for a potluck dinner and a desire to have fun with other TN furs.
