NYCC 2008 Report!
I'm pretty sure everyone who went to NYCC this weekend had tons of fun! This was definitely and experience for me... I've never seen Takanori live so this was a shocker. I got to talk to him in person twice! I'm incredibly happy but I feel sad that it ended so soon. I saw some people I knew and I made new friends. This weekend, Takanori brought so many of us together and we all grew closer because of him so I thank him so much for this weekend. But on to the fun stuff! The weekend report!

On Friday, me and my good friend Jessica came to NYCC and hour and a half late because of train delays (WTF METRO NORTH?). I finally found Linz and she gave us our passes. When we asked about the autograph tickets, she told us they were gone for the day! I was incredibly shocked but then remembered that only 200 were available. Goodness. Takanori likes playing hard to get! Ha ha! So, after finding the T.M.Revolution booth, Jessica and I wandered off and explored Comic Con. It was an okay convention but we ran out of things to do fast. Besides, we were only there for one reason only!

On Saturday, Jessica and I left early (around 8?) to get to the convention center so we could get the autograph tickets. There was a line forming already when we got there but that was okay. We were towards the front anyway. We made friends on line and played some Zelda on the DS. When we were finally allowed in, Jessica and I RAN to the booth and got a place in line. I was so nervous that we wouldn't get tickets but all turned well and we got them! We also took pictures of the T.M.Revolution booth and all of its glory. It was fantastic to see his actual costumes there. So after wandering around, we totally forgot there was a panel for T.M.Revolution on the bottom floor of the convention center. Me and Jessica ran like crazy trying to find it. We arrived at the last part of the panel but it was okay. I was shaking Jessica going, "OMG IT'S REALLY HIM."
After the panel we went up to the autographing section where a massive line as already forming. I can't even count how many people asked me what the line was for! I remember also being told that he was only signing the Comic Con booklets and nothing else. That was a major let down... Until we got further on the line. When Takanori arrived, there was cheering. I got tense at this point. As I approached closer, I saw girls walking away with signed CDs so Jessica and I took advantage of that... well... When I got to Takanori, it was embarassing. I was sobbing like a little girl. I wasn't expecting to cry until I saw other girls doing it. It hit me at once when I realized I was meeting Takanori Nishikawa, the man that I've been a huge fan of for years! So when I got to him, I asked if he could sign 1000000000000 for me and he was so kind. I also got an autograph for a friend who was taking my dog for the weekend. I kept on saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" because of my hysterical tears. He was a sweetheart! When I asked for a hug, I nearly knocked the table into him! My bag got caught on the table and pushed it but I fixed it and apologized over my sobs. I walked away and called my mom to tell her how excited I was and all she could tell me was how much of a mess I was.
At 5 o'clock, Jessica and I happened to go to the T.M.Revolution booth to see when the dance session was... Well, we arrived just in time. After meeting up with all of the fans, we all gathered and Romi (and her awesome Wild Rush costume) helped us with T.M.Revolution dances! We went over "Hot Limit," "Wild Rush," and "High Pressure" (I hope I'm not missing one!) We took group photos and we all mingled and stuff.
We all met back up at 8 o'clock for the concert at 9 PM. There was a giant line going from the IGN theater to the bathrooms at the other side of the first floor. Luckily for the T.M.Revolutionists, we had reserved seats that were pretty good! Before the concert started, the camera man took shots of the audience being silly and all of the T.M.Revolution stuff. There were some pretty sexy photos up there! Whoo! Takanori's album "Under Cover" was playing the in the background. When the concert started, there was massive cheering! It was such a rush to see all the fans and Takanori live! He opened up with "Invoke", I believe. It was incredible. He performed his Gundam songs and his other anime/video game songs as well. After two or three songs, Takanori began to speak to the audience in ENGLISH. IT WAS GREAT. He said something along the lines of, "It's been four years since I've performed in America. We have some catching up to do!" It was great. I understood a lot of what he was saying! In his performances, he'd scream, "You're the best!," "I love you!", "Make some noise!," and "Scream!" There are probably some other things I missed. When he performed "Vestige," there was this white light behind him that made him look so... holy. It was awesome. He stripped a bit which was definitely okay with me. <3 He also poured water on himself and threw his cup into the audience... It looked like a glass cup. He also performed his new single, "Resonance," for the first time! Then he said he saved the best song for last. It was the Under Cover version of "Heart of Sword." After performing that, the audience screamed for more! He and the rest of the band came out wearing the TMR Comic Con shirts and performed three more songs. I believe there was "Meteor" "Hot Limit" and "High Pressure." After those songs, the concert was over. Outside, the fans were still screaming and chanting TMR! It was great. I even started them up again at one point. Fun stuff.

Jessica and I woke up on Sunday to get to the Kinokuniya near Byrant Park! We were near the front of the line so we got pretty good spots in the front! On line, everyone filled out a survey about TMR and the event. There was name, age, blah, blah. There was also questions for TMR and song request. After being squished into our spots for the event, we waited for Takanori. When Takanori came out, he wore some of the shiniest pants I've seen in a long time. He looked shorter than usual for some reason! I don't quite remember who the MC was but he's a bilingual actor who translated for the American fans. He asked Takanori about his trips to NYC and his experiences in America. He gave everyone some background information too. Then there were the fan questions. There was stuff about Gundam and etc... Until Jessica's question was asked. She was so flustered because she thought her question was embarassing! Her question was, "How do you maintain your beauty?" Takanori answered that he didn't have a straight answer and that he "woke up that way." I told him that I wish I could wake up that beautiful! Jessica still believes that Takanori is hiding something and that he doesn't wake up that way! Ha ha! Then there was a question about his nails. Takanori said that he has a friend who comes to his house and does it for him. Then he added that he wakes up and they look that way! Then the last question was from me! When the MC said my name, I freaked! My question was, "Where do you get all that energy before concerts?" Takanori answered that he gets it from his fans when they chant and scream for him (like when everyone was yelling "TMR" and the concert on saturday). Afterwards, I got to tell him "Thank you! I love you!" and he replied, "No! I love you!" or something like that! He was so cute! You can bet I giggled the whole time after that. Jessica and I were high five-ing it up since we both got our questions up! After the interview, we got to listen to the b-side to "Resonance." I don't remember what the track is called... Takanori took pictures with his fans for the radio website or something. I don't know where the pictures will be posted...
Later on Sunday, the Japanese fans and some of the American fans met up at 53 Duet for some karaoke! It was GREAT. We all introduced ourselves (with Romi translating) and we all sang! There were many T.M.Revolution songs sung. Me and Linz even had "Chase/The Thrill" going there! There was an American fan, Mari (Thanks for correcting me!) , who did a fantastic job with her favorite TMR songs. We also had some "Hot Limit" in there too! We had a great time. The Japanese fans had gifts for us (which totally threw a lot of us off). I felt terrible that we didn't have anything (except our love, of course)! We got some TMR pins, cute bear/heart pins, and limited edition "Gurren Lagann" bandanas and pins. We all want to meet half way the next time we meet so that we can understand some Japanese while they understand some English! It'll be great.

Thank you so much again for the best weekend me and I'm sure a lot of other people had in a long time. Linz, you've been a doll this weekend. None of this could've gone on without you. Also a big shout out to all T.M.Revolution fans! Let's continue to support Takanori and make revolution! <3

That Chinese song took a while to learn... But, it's a catchy song! It's called "Cao Cao" by JJ Lin.

Nice to meet you too! : )
