| Spring Show? |
[Mar. 28th, 2007|08:57 pm] |
Does anybody know when Spring Show is this year? My little brother (Timmy) said he'd rather I go to that than graduation, so I need to figure out which classes I'll be missing to see him sing.
(Yes I'm old and this would be creepy if I had no connections left at TJ, but he's my brother :P) |

| SPRING SHOW! |
[Jun. 2nd, 2006|08:51 am] |
Come see TJ Choir's Spring Show tonight! Tickets are $5 if you buy them at lunch or $7 at the door. The show starts at 7:30 and it's gonna be really really really really good.
Why? Guess what the theme is.... DISNEY! And who doesn't love Disney music? But even if you don't love Disney music, you'll love this show, because we have some really talented singers (and we dance, too!). So seriously, guys, come. Because it is going to be amazing. The end. |

| Spirit week? |
[May. 28th, 2006|03:48 pm] |
One of my favorite things about Spring Show last year, besides the whole awesomeness that is Spring Show, was the spirit week we had leading up to it. I don't recall hearing anything about having one this year; did I miss something, or is there not one planned? And if there's not one planned, does anyone want to work with me to come up with spirit days for next week? I just think it would a shame not to use this chance to advertise, and spirit days can be a lot of fun. We need at least ONE spirit day, if not a week. We don't want people to think we don't HAVE spirit, do we?
If you'd like to work on that with me, you can email me (tommiejeff.taco@gmail.com), IM me (tjotaku on AIM), or comment here! Thanks guys!

| requiem canceled! |
[Jan. 9th, 2006|06:18 pm] |
"Due to the death of Prince William County's Superintendent, all after-school activities tomorrow for PW County have been canceled. (His funeral is tomorrow.) That includes our long-awaited Winter Concert. The Garfield Choral Director has also informed Mr. Frels that he is unable to re-schedule again (you may recall the original date in December was postponed due to a PW snow day). Mr. Frels must devote the next two months to preparing for Chorus Festival in March. However, he plans to re-schedule the Winter Concert for an as-yet-to-be-determined date in April." |

| Graduation |
[Jun. 22nd, 2005|08:33 pm] |
TJ Choir will be singing The Banner at the beginning of graduation, as always. Everyone in choir should sing - alums, extracurricular people, and current curricular people. And you should all come, because you're not going to be seeing all of us seniors for a while. :( And we need you to cheer for us when we get our diplomas. (Choi-ya-sae!) AND - it shouldn't be too boring or anything - Mrs. Kreloff is the faculty speaker and Mark Warner is the keynote speaker...and neither of them are boring people. More reason to come. :) Graduation is this Saturday at 8 pm. You will need to be at the Patriot Center by 7 pm to warm up and go through The Banner. Don't wear ugly clothes! :P That means - boys - dress shirts, dress pants, nice shoes (not sneakers!) and girls - dress top, nice pants/skirt. Seniors: I need to verify this, but I think that while we process into the Patriot Center and everyone else is going to their seats, we just leave the procession line and find our place on the risers. So don't go to your seats! After we sing (from what I remember in past years), there is no pretty way to go back to our seats, so just go climb over people do whatever we need to do. :)
Hope to see all of you at grad!!! :) |

Spring show is next Friday!!! :)
That means crazy mad rehearsing all of next week. If you can't be at an afterschool rehearsal, you need to tell Frels in writing (email or note) and let me know, too, for planning purposes...here is the schedule behind an LJ-cut because its ridiculously long (not to mention ridiculously tight time-wise).
Also! Get point sheets to me by the end of rehearsal on Monday. (I emailed copies to you, incase you haven't done yours already.) Or else you will be sad when other people are getting letters/certificates, and you should be getting one too, but you forgot to do the point sheet.

| Seniors! |
[May. 28th, 2005|05:10 pm] |
Senior goodbyes for this year's spring show program are due to me by Monday, May 30. Yes, that's this upcoming Memorial Day. Yes, currently I have a grand total of zero goodbyes. Please help change this by sending yours to unsaid at gmail.com in this format:
Name College Major Message
Please, please, please get these to me. I'd really like to have every senior in the program this year, and that can't happen unless you all get something to me before deadline. And I don't particularly want to resort to hunting any of you down with a big smile and a really sharp stick. If any of you would like to see goodbyes from previous years for inspiration, I'll type them up in the comments.
Pass this friendly reminder along to anyone you know who might even remotely resemble a choir senior. Thanks!

[May. 18th, 2005|11:28 pm] |
We have 3.5 choir class days till the week of Spring Show. Tomorrow, next Monday and Tuesday, and the Tuesday after that (senior skip day). (Next Thursday, 60% of us will be in Orlando and the Thursday after that is J-day.)
The point of telling you that is to remind you that you must show up at class on time because we have limited time to finish learning everything. You must be at the rehearsals. All of them. Unless you want to look silly on stage...? |

If you are extracurricular and you were not at the Saturday rehearsal and were not there during 8th pd on Friday, PLEASE find me ASAP so I can get all your info (email, shirt size, blah blah...if you filled out that slip, then you're good to go!). If you need music - Frels has packets (and CDs?) for you.
Seniors - we'll be practicing senior song on Friday at lunch again. Also, I will be going over If You Believe (for those of you who don't know it, or who are thinking of trying out for a solo), so this lunch rehearsal will actually take all of lunch, most likely. |

ALSO! Senior shirts will be ordered soon...so find funny quotes from all your years of choir fun (as in, these should be jokes from choir/with choir friends and stuff...not random inside jokes with people we don't know) and send them to Yen or me. :) :) :)
OOOO I'm excited! Please spread the word about senior song rehearsal! |

(And to 4th period chicas - I've been hearing great things about you girls, too, though I haven't gotten to actually hear you yet.)
Just writing to say - get lots of sleep tonight!!! And don't scream/yell/sing in a painful way...
Oh, and uh, perhaps the alto section shouldn't burst out in "Can't Touch This" at the end of Jubilant Song...HAHA. (We'll save it for later - that + a crazy bad dance party!)
See you at the beginning of lunch tomorrow in the choir room! :) :) :) |
