TiVo Lovers - DVR Tivo's

I was just curious about something. I have a direct tv DVR(Tivo)and I wanted to know if these type of tivos can be connected to a person's computer and have programming downloaded to the pc from the dvr(direct tv tivo)just as people with regular tivo's do??

IF someone could respond I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

No, my understanding is that DirectTV hobbles that feature, or that because it was introducted after DirecTV ended their relationship with Tivo, you don't have it.

There are hacks to do some or most of the same things that regular TiVos do, but it's a some DIY and then unsupported after that.

The software is in there, but DirecTV deliberately disables those features - feel free to thank them for crippling your box.

You need to hack the box to enable the network functionality.
