It's a fair cop. TiVo has been promising a Mac version of TTG since they announced it in the first place a couple of years ago, they've yet to deliver. It is a classic example of vaporware.

Last year's knock for the Series3 I took issue with, since they always said it would be out in 2006. Something that has an initial promised date that has not year arrived simply is not vaporware. If the date keeps getting pushed back (ala Duke Nukem Forever), that's fine, but the S3 launched when they said it would.

Fortunately, someone came out with a way to get files out of a tivo onto a Mac — in a standardized format, none of this proprietary crap; we already have enough proprietary crap. While I don't use my Series2 anymore I'm glad that someone out there had the guts to use the standardized formats that are already out there and that lots of software can already read …

Yep, definitely worthy of being on the list.

And #1? Duke Nukem Forever. Again. I love it. ;)
