TiVo Lovers - Lost my 30 second skip!!!

I have multiple TiVos and tonight one of them - the Series 2 'TiVo' brand one - has lost the 30 second skip! I can punch in the code and get the 3 beeps but when I click on the button it goes right to the end!! My Toshiba DVD TiVo does not have this problem - it skips as usual. My old Sony Series 1 is skipping nicely as well.

What's the deal? Anyone heard of this? I'm a 30 second skip addict. Anyone know how to get it back?

'scuse the ring...

a hard reboot did it. a reset didn't but plugging and unplugging and then punching in the code set it all to right.

I started just to delete this entry since it's barely 15 mins old but then thought maybe someone else might have the same scare and want the fix.

hm, I've had tivo for a year and I haven't heard of this 30-second skip (unless I call it something else). How do you do it?

silly question -- does that work on ALL TiVo's?

or just not the ones that came directly from DirecTV??

cause I tried it and it changed to channel 30 :(

I've never had a DirectTV TiVo so I don't know about them, but for my 2 TiVo Series II stand alones and my Sony Series I and my Tosiba DVD, it works great.

Weird. I'd try rebooting the TiVo then entering the code again.

Whew, good thing you got it back. One of my fears is TiVo taking away the :30 hack!
