[MOD] Optional Table

About The Table/Getting Started

Kay, so, all this is is replacing things in Notepad. To replace stuff, go to Edit -> Replace All. In "Find What" put in what you want to find, then put in what you'd like to replace that with in "Replace With," hit "replace all" and you win!
So basically, all you do is replace "COLOUR01," "COLOUR02," "COLOUR03," and "ICON GOES HERE." You also replace "OPTIONAL BANNER GOES HERE" with your banner (if you made one), "ICON GOES HERE" with your placeholder icon (which I recomment for simplicity), and "DATE GOES HERE" with, obviously, the date of your last update. It's easy peasy, I promise. Now you choose colours.
Choosing Colours
Once you've copied the table, go into Notepad, Semagic, or any other program in which you can edit text, and paste it in there. Now you choose colours. MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU PASTE YOUR COLOUR, YOU HAVE THE "#" BEFORE IT OR IT WILL NOT WORK!!
Paint Shop Pro Users: You can choose any colours you like by going to your colour selection pallete, clicking on the colour itself, and on the bottom will be the hexcode (what you will need for the colour to work properly in the table).
Photoshop Users: I'm told that you can click on a colour and its hexcode will pop up next to it. I'm not sure, though, so if someone could clarify, I'd appreciate it.
For Those Without Either (or those who can't figure it out): You can go to one of the following sites:
To choose a colour: This site and this site are wonderful. You have all the colour codes you could ever possibly want, and can easily copy the code.
To choose a colour based on its RGB value: THIS IS PROBABLY ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF PHOTOSHOP OR PSP. Colormatch.dk is a godsend for you, then. You can scroll and choose a colours R, G, or B value
To do both!: You can go to this wonderful site. What you can do is click on a colour swatch, and it will show you many matching colours and their hexcodes. I highly recommend this, especially for those who don't have much knowledge of HTML.
Choosing Non-Clashing Colours: Please keep in mind that everyone has eyes, and they don't like them being burned by atrocious colour schemes. SO, when you choose colours, please choose ones at opposite ends of the spectrum. So, if you want to use a light pink as your text colour, black will look well behind it as a background colour. Note: This isn't a rule, but please don't choose neon green and yellow as your colours, because, going back to my original point, we here have eyes that don't like being burned. Light colours like that don't look well together, in case you hadn't noticed.
Replacing ColourX, and What They Mean
Colour Imput Fields: There are three input fields. One is for your table background colour, one is for your text colour, and one is for your border colour. I figure since I'm covering all my bases, I'll elaborate on the input fields so people don't bug me about what they mean
Table Background: Your table background is, in the simplest words possible, the background colour of your table.
Text Colour: Obviously, what colour the text on the table will show up as.
Border Colour: I have added a border from my original table, because they look pretty. See this post by karoru for an idea of what your border will look like.
Aaand now you replace!
(Note: I changed the imput fields from "colourx goes here" to simply "colourx" to eliminate problems people were having with spacing)
Final Notes
Okay, that should be everything. If I forgot anything, comment to let me know and I'll fix it. If you have questions, go 'head and ask. If you experience any problems with my template, pleease let me know. I'll gladly look at and fix any code problems you may be experiencing.
Also, of note: problems with spacing can occur quite often, so I recommend opening Notepad in fullscreen to replace things. It helps, really. Also, make sure when you're replacing things not to replace your "COLOUR03" with quotations around it, because it will mess up your entire code. Just replace the word, not the word and quotations.
