The wagon pulled up to the Cain cabin and all the occupants piled out. Ahamo helped Will unload the equipment while Cain tried not to look at the suit. Raw nudged DG's arm and nodded for her to go to him.

"You don't have to be here, Cain," she said quietly. They could destroy the suit without him, Will would see to it.

"Actually, I do," he replied, finally looking at the suit, then her. Raw caught DG's hand and pulled her back as Will and Ahamo neared the suit.

Cain nodded to Will. "Do it."

Will smiled. "With pleasure."

"I'm not going over there! You go over there. You're his... buddy."

"If Walter wants the world to see his bloomers flapping in the wind, that's his business."

Cain was the first out of the truck, followed closely by DG and Nelson, the chauffer they had snagged on their way out. Circling around the side, he reached over the edge of the truck bed and grabbed two shovels, handing one to each of the others before going back for the third for himself.

“Didn’t we leave it in the back, standing up?” DG asked, following Cain around the corner of the mostly renovated cabin.

“We did,” Cain replied, then pointed to the empty place where the tin suit had been. “I buried it.”

“Oh,” DG breathed faintly, staring.

With the day’s work on Wyatt’s new cabin complete, the two brothers set out for some drinks at the Ruby Creek Tavern.

With a bottle of whiskey and two glasses, Wyatt sat down. “Andy coming to your barn raising tomorrow?” Garrett asked watching Wyatt pour.

“Hope so.”

“Is that an optimistic tone I hear?” Wyatt didn’t answer. “It was wasn’t it? Well, considering how much time you two have been spending together, I’d say it’s about time.”

Wyatt glanced at the ring still on his finger. “Am I doing the right thing?”

“What? Falling in love again? Yes, you are.”

Summary: A peek into the life of Officer Wyatt Cain.

The blade caused an intense pain in his side. His head hurt from the fall when their bodies entangled during the scuffle and one of them tripped. As darkness encircled him, he could hear the taunting voice of his attacker.

He awoke startled and sweating. When his eyes focused, he wasn’t in that alley fighting for his life, but in his cabin recuperating.

Adora came in and set the tray down. She frowned and then helped him sit up. “Dreaming again?”

“Yeah,” he answered breathless.

She poured him some medicinal tea and then sat on the bed gently. She and Jeb almost lost him because of a lunatic and it was something she hoped would never happen again.

“Nope,” Glitch confirmed cheerfully. “Sounds like an interesting device, though, I can try making one for you.”

“Well, that doesn’t help me now. When Cain said his cabin had all the modern conveniences, I assumed...” She tossed the basket under the rope and reached for pins.

“What’s inconvenient about a clothesline?” Glitch wanted to know.

“Nothing, if you don’t mind your bloomers flapping in the wind for the whole world to see,” DG grumbled.
