The Rules

2. All stories must be over 1000 words. There is no upper limit, but we want to make sure that every participant receives something of reasonable length.

3. Your story must not be centred on the Doctor, Rose, Jack or Martha. They may appear, but they should not be the focus of the story.

4. Your requests must be limited to the three seasons of New Who only. We're sorry.

5. Your story must be posted to this community by 1st September. That means you have five weeks to write it.

I'm a bit confused over how it works.

When you sign up are you giving out three plots that you might like someone to read and at the same time saying you'll do someone elses plots?
And what's pinch-hit?

I'll enter but I want this cleared up first, thanks

You give three plots you'd like to read. Your form is assigned to someone else who has signed up, and they choose one of the three to write. Meanwhile, you get someone else's form and have to write one of the three plots.

Though they're not so much plots as things we'd like to see in a story.

Request 1: (TIP/TSP). Background on the team of the Sanctuary Base. EG. How did the Captain die? How was their first contact with the Impossible Planet? Or, even before that – where did they come from? What year? How did they all come to be on the team? Etc.

Request 2: (ROTC/AOS). Mrs Moore background. What did she see that was so dangerous? When? Where? Why? How did she come to find the Preachers? Etc.

Request 3: Jackie. Any time, any season, any universe. We saw a glimpse of her life without Rose in LAM… What about the rest of it? What does she do, and how she got/gets by.

Request 1: When Reinette meets the Doctor again, she says that he was her "imaginary friend". So, she must have played imaginary games with him, right? The sort of, "going on adventures" thing... Reinette growing up with the Doctor as her imaginary friend.

Request 2: Sally Sparrow, before or after the Doctor left. Who were her parents, what were they like? Also, anything that involves Kathy and her being all friend-ish would be great. Or, if it's after, her and Larry would be cute.

Request 3: What was Joan's first husband like? How did they meet?

Request 2: Jake's childhood or young adulthood. How did he meet Rickey?

Request 3: Mickey post Boomtown coming to terms with himself and how Rose treats him. Specifically not so much a poor me thing as him moving forward and realizing that he is always going to be second and making life for himself like we see in School reunion. Conversations with Jackie commiserating are a plus.

Hallo!

I'm sorry, I just read your third request, and had a tiny little personal freak-out moment there. Please, please please drop me a line if you don't get that one written for you... because I would LOVE to write it! *bites lip* I don't mean it'd be very good, y'understand, but... guh. I'm a big Marc Warren/Elton Pope fan, and I loved Sally Sparrow, so... yeah. I love that idea!!

... I don't entirely understand the deal with what happens when the stories are written, or if they're going to be posted somewhere, but, if you DO get that one... could you drop me a line anyway? I'd just love to read that one... *blush*

*blink* I think I just crossed the line into the centre of dorkdom right there, so I'm sorry for that... I hope you don't think I'm too much of a geek!

On 1st September, you will post the story you've written (one of the three requests you'll receive) to this community. Hopefully, on that day, the person who received your requests will post the story they've written for you to this community. There'll also be a masterlist of links to the stories.

Recently read that Tommy was supposed to be gay in a very early draft and 18 years old. He talks to Rose about fancying and she thinks it is her he fancies but he says no not you, and nods toward the Doc. She encourages him and goes into the TARDIS. Tommy says goodbye to the Doctor who comes back in and is red faced...a kiss bye...

Request 2: (Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways) The two programmers who died fighting the Daleks on the Game Station. One was named Davitch Pavale, and he said that he only joined so he could work with the unnamed female programmer. Tell that story.

Request 3: (Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways) The Controller was installed into the Game Station when she was five years old, but what about before that? What was her life like before and after she was installed?

Request 1: A wiser, rueful Adam Mitchell gets to know Harriet Jones, probably in 2012 or 2013, starting an unlikely friendship over how they were both kinda shafted by the Doctor. (Has Harriet risen back to power, or is she doing something else? There's more than one way to make a Golden Age...) I'd like this to have a positive outlook for both of them.

Request 2: Professor Docherty. When that strange young woman comes up to her with flowers and forgives her, what are the next few days like? Maybe it makes her think of something else. Maybe she remembers the missing year.

Request 3: Mrs. Moore of Whoverse!prime: alive, kicking, geeky and smart and badass. Where's she at? What is she doing? What is she becoming? I'd like to see some of her interactions with primeverse events.

One thing you really don't want to write: I'm not going to write anyone totally out of character. Which means I pretty definitionally won't write a character-bashing fic. I'm willing to write a fic where one character is totally cruel to another, as long as they're in character; capiche?

One thing you really don't want to receive: That's about the same as what I don't want to write.

Request 1: Suki's (From The Long Game) story. What is the Freedom Foundation? What happened to the rest of the Freedom Fifteen? Et cetera.

Request 3: AU-verse, where Lynda from Bad Wold/Parting of the Ways is brought back to life along with Jack and the other staff. Dealing with the inability to die, et cetera.

Request 1: Alex, Harriet Jones' assistant from The Christmas Invasion. What happens to him after Harriet goes out of power? Nothing related to Saxon, please, and I'd like either Alex/Harriet het or Alex/male (OC or other minor Who character, would love Elton or the Captain from The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, but there are many other good possibilities as well - Adam would even be good) slash if there is a pairing but gen is good too.

Request 2: Algy. How did his meeting Jack change him? Would really like slash here if at all possible. OC, crossover or (my secret love) Algy meeting a not-killed Captain Jack Harkness from the Torchwood episode. Gen is doable though.

Request 3: Reinette/Sarah Jane. How they get to the same time and place is up to the author. I would adore femslash but gen is good also.

One thing you really don't want to write: Het smut with one off/one off characters (can do recurring/one off okay though).
One thing you really don't want to receive: I'd prefer slash and/or pairings to gen if possible but if the author isn't comfortable, I'd rather good gen.
Which seasons of New Who can you write? 1 and 2 only. Can also do Torchwood if needed.
Can you pinch-hit? Ask me closer to the time but possibly.
