Elizabeth Stamatina Fey was born May 18, 1970 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Graduating from the University of Virgina in 1992, Fey headed to Chicago to study at the famed Second City where she met friends Rachel Dratch, Amy Poehler, and future husband Jeff Richmond. In 1997 Tina left for New York as one of Saturday Night Live's newest writers. Only two short years later she was made the first female head writer of SNL. The following year she and Jimmy Fallon co-anchored Weekend Update for four years until Fallon left and Amy Poehler took over his seat. On Sept. 10, 2005, Tina gave birth to a baby girl- Alice Zenobia Richmond, and in 2006, Tina left Saturday Night Live to persue other projects, mainly her sitcom that she wrote and will star in, 30 Rock, that will premiere Oct. 11 @ 8pm on NBC. Tina is also the writer of the smash hit movie Mean Girls and is currently working on another screenplay, The Adventures of Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill.
