Pic prompts:

With the second part of the Season 4 finale set to air this weekend in the UK, I want to open up a new ficathon but this time it'll be a little different in the way we do things. I want to ask anyone who wants to see a story written to reply to this message and list up to five prompts. The prompts can be words, pictures, or storylines with a preferred emphasis on FLUFF. I say fluff because frankly we might be in need of it after the conclusion of JOURNEY'S END on Saturday.

Now here's how this ficathon will be different.

Instead of assigning each prompt to someone I will list each prompt in a new post and you can pick any two prompts you'd like to fulfill. Each claimed prompt will be crossed off after it has been claimed. Prompts will be added throughout the ficathon so keep listing them.

You are free to write as many stories as you'd like but can only claim two prompts at a time. So that means when you're done with your two claimed prompts link me to the story/stories and then claim two more on the list if you so desire.

Since the prompts are opened to whomever there will be no sign up deadline. However I won't open open sign ups until after I have received at least 30 prompts. I will ask that people try to post their stories by a deadline no later than September 2, 2008.

hat's the best deadline time for you?

For those of you who signed up for the Christmas ficathon, there is a slight problem as that only 9 signed up, which means one person will be left out in some fashion unless one more person signs up for the ficathon today. I am leaving the ficathon open for today for one more person only and then it's officially closed.

I think most likely I'll be issuing assignments tomorrow so if you haven't yet filled out the info in the email I sent out a few days ago, please fill it out and return it to me ASAP!

Are the British big on celebrating Valentine's Day?

Would you be interesting in a Valentine's Day ficathon (or flash shower) theme?

Flash showers is going to be a randomly posted writing challenge that’ll generally be opened for one week and will be based on a prompt of one to four words. The idea of accepting the challenge will be to incorporate all of those words into your story and have fun while doing it.

- You have no obligation to take participate in these
 - You have no obligation to finish in these within one week’s time
 - You can write for a past flash shower whenever you feel inspired even if it’s after a long time since it was originally posted

I recently became aware that what I thought would be critieria for what recipients want in their stories sounded more like what they'll write in the stories for their recipients. As a result of this I am going to ask people to reply here with what elements they want in the stories they received from the person assigned to them. Please answer the following:

Nine or Ten: Which Doctor do you want in your story?
Any elements you'd like to see like a phrase or certain situation?
Do you want this to take place before, during, or after Doomsday? Do you want an AU to Doomsday?
Any characters besides the Doctor and Rose do you want to see in your story? (ie. Jackie, Mickey, Peter, Jack Harkness etc.)

I may have to switch around some folks in their assignments as I have a few who don't want to write Doomsday fixers or Ten/Rosebaby! fics. Please anyone who got assigments before disregard until I can be sure there won't be any conflicts -- I am so sorry for the confusion (this is the first time I've attempted this and I am am learning).
