Summary: After World War III, the Doctor tries to make things - like refusing to do domestic with a mother who's not seen her daughter for twelve months - up to Rose. Predictably, things do not go according to plan. Unpredictably, the pair end up in a totally new kind of adventure. Not all quests are transparent and not all tests have simple answers.

Summary: Rose finally finds out what it is to 'dance' with the Doctor.
Authors Notes: This was an entry for the

writerinatardis LAS. It was my first attempt and my last as I was voted out. The prompt was "The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter -- 'tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning." --Mark Twain
I tried to be too clever and failed epically. I wanted to show the difference between dancing and 'dancing' so the first part of the fic looks at Rose's experience of dancing and in the second part she 'dances' with the Doctor. I challenged myself to write this section without using any smutty language, instead using dance terminology as metaphor...I only explain myself as the feedback I got back made it obvious that I had not succeeded in putting this over. Still, it's all a learning curve, so I offer it in the hope that there is still some enjoyment to be had out of it.

Spoilers: know that Mickey travelled with them in early season two? Then you’re good.
Summary: Rose searches the TARDIS, cup of tea in hand, determined to make the Doctor feel better. A packet of biscuits is shared, a surprising revelation about the Doctor’s relationship with Reinette is dropped and in the end it’s hard to tell exactly who is more upset. Episode tag to “Girl in the Fireplace”.
Disclaimer: Doctor Who and all it’s associated characters/situations etc do not belong to me, I’m just borrowing them for now.

( The best spot in the library was in the very back corner on the right hand side. It was the only corner in the whole place that boasted a fireplace and the Doctor kept his first edition copies of all the Harry Potter books there – amongst various other very important pieces of literature from all over the universe as well of course. If he was going to be anywhere in the library he would be there. )
