Pants

Went to the expensive thrift store (Village Thrift) on Saturday and got 3 pairs of pants + one I got there at the beginning of August.
It's the 'expensive thrift store' because everything in there is organized, and neat, and clean, and nice, and jeans are between 6-9 $. So it's still a savings, but not a big savings. The place is huge, though, so it's like the thrifting department store or something and it's hard not to go in there and get something.
IDK why I'm including brands other than me convincing myself the expensive thrift store is really still a bargain. XD I'm not really a brand person, I swear.

Banana-looking Faded Glory Capris - $6.90 (Not much of a savings, but at least I know how they're sized. XD) Regular capri shaped

Detail

Black Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans - $6.90 (Again, not a big savings, but at least I know the sizing lol.) Regular jeans shaped. :/

Detail

Red & White Threaded Ann Taylor Jeans - $7.40 (An actual savings considering the brand, haha.) Fits like a straight-leg.

Detail

And some sky blue Talbots jeans (? Never heard of before) - $7.40 I think. Fits in a Boot-cut shape.

Detail (lol I should iron these ones)

My mom wanted me to pick out my clothes for my first four days of school for some reason (like they're any more signifigant than any other days of school) so here they are. :) Yes, I do own 3 of the same shirt in different colors. (Actually, I think I have a fourth one... *cough*)

Even though its the "expensive thrift store" you still got good deals! I think the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans would have originally been more expensive than the Ann Taylor ones. Oh and Talbots is a chain of sort of preppy/classic clothing, in the mid-to-high range price. Another brand that would have been originally more expensive than AT. So in all, you did really well!

Yeah, I was just thinking around here you can buy Gloria Vanderbilt for around $12 at BJ's... Interesting to know how much the talbot ones are worth, too. Thanks for letting me know!

Wow, around here, Talbots are all stand alone stores and in the wealthy neighborhoods (the closest one to me is literally up the street from where the Clintons live to give you an example.) Don't shop at Walmart so I couldn't say if they carry the GV jeans here, but they were spotted in Bloomingdales! Its always interesting to hear how things differ in price around the country, and a little disheartening sometimes too -- when searching for a bargain.

OTOH, because of where I am, I find amazing quality super-duper high end stuff for a small fraction of the original price and in pristine barely used condition because some socialite/ idle rich woman got bored after the first wearing. (Or heavens forbid can't be seen in the same thing more than once! Ah fate worst than death and enough to have you exiled ;))

I always feel just a little bit guilty for shopping at Village Thrift, both 'cuz it's so expensive and because it seems to be a for-profit venture (as opposed to the places that support various charities.)

But! I love to go there because everything is so organized and the selection is huge. I know I'm guaranteed to come out with something I can wear.

And great jeans, BTW! I just took my daughter to Target and dropped $75.00 on school clothes. :(

Ahh, same here. It's like, it's less 'happy' but at the same time - the selection. >_<; It's true guilty pleasure thrifting.

Thanks. :D

talbots is high end, search them.
gloria vanderbuilt used to be a huge name, now they sell them at jc penny and kohls type of stores for about 25 bucks a pair. i have not been to a kmart in 5+ years so i couldn't tell you if they sell them there or not. gloria vanderbilts are my new jean of choice in the amanda style (straight leg regular rise). i only thrift express X2 jeans.
the anne taylors are a good find too.
i won't even buy faded glory unless it drops below that price at wal*mart.
