Things are different in small towns.

This morning I was walking from my hotel to the building I'm working at. It's about a three block walk, but it's pouring rain. I didn't pack an umbrella. Halfway there a newer model truck pulls up to the curb alongside of where I'm walking. I open the door to the truck wondering if it's someone I might know, even though I don't know anyone in this town. It's a complete stranger. He says "from the look of your briefcase I'm guessing that you're going to the government building." (He's right.) He says "get in, I'll give you a ride so your briefcase doesn't fill up with water." Despite the advice that my mother gave me about not getting into strange vehicles, I get in. He's not a kidnapper, he's just a nice man who decided to give a stranger a ride instead of letting him get soaked in the rain. We have a nice chat, he drops me off and I thank him and go on about my business, drier that I would otherwise have been.

There are plenty of nice people in the world. I forget that sometimes. The news only reports about the not-so-nice people. There are plenty of nice people in the world.

I'm in control of my own thoughts. I can create anything that I want. All I need to do is feel a better feeling. I know I can create anything. My situation with relationships, money, health, I have created it all. All I need to do is look for the positive side of things. All I need to do is reach for a better feeling. I can always lie to myself until that lie becomes true. I am in control of my life and everything that surrounds me. I can change anything I don't like. I have the power to have any situation I want. I am a strong manifestor. I am a strong creator. My life is what I make it. I will make it better. I will live a beautiful fulfilled life.

Day 6 (yesterday): Got the car fixed from its latest issue - this time it was an ignition part that was failing. Only cost $180 to fix and car is now running like a dream! Yay!

Day 7 (today): Had an enjoyable lunch out with work colleague. Got some great news on the work front with relation to what will most likely see me getting a big promotion and new work duties. Very happy about that.

Instead of driving from home (45 miles east of Vancouver) to Powell River, which would have taken over 5 hours due to mountain roads and ferries with finicky schedules, I flew. The flight took about a half an hour. It was on a rickety (I exaggerate) twin engine propeller plane. There were only three of us on the flight. It was fun!

Reba is a funny show. It makes me laugh and cheers me up. I try to find anything in the morning that can make me laugh because it takes away that uncomfortable feeling I get when I think about the day ahead.

Last night, I saw Bon Jovi on Helen. For the past couple of days I wanted to hear the song "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi, and last night, Helen was on and they were playing that same song. :) That made me feel good. I manifested it. I don't usually watch Helen but just happened to put it on.

today is a short week for me. We have no school thursday and friday, and I took wednesday as a personal day - so yippee.

I make a deal every quarter with the kids in my program - if they get a 3.0, I'll make them cookies. Well, we had 8 kids get a 3.0 or better so go kids go. And they've already started signing up for the next marking period. One kid - he's holding out for a hug from me if he gets a 3.0. I'm not big into hugging our kids as personal hygine isn't a huge skill for a lot of them, but if this particular kid gets the 3.0, I'll give him the hug

I got a message today that I'm being sent to work in beautiful Powell River, British Columbia for the last part of this week. I love getting to travel. British Columbia is such a beautiful place. Vancouver is a great city, but the rural parts of BC are amazing too. Powell River is on the coast on the east side of the Strait of Malaspina. It is nestled up against the Coastal Mountains. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and I believe that I may get to see a few whales, not to mention eat some amazing Pacific coast seafood. Some of my co-workers complain when they get asked to travel. I fail to understand why. I'm so grateful for this opportunity being given to me.

Just a quick note, for everyone who also follows my journal, please check out this entry if you haven't already . I'm changing some of the filters so most of the posts will not show up in friendslist until you let me know which groups you want to be in :)

OK, here's the last few days because I've been busy!

Day 3 (Saturday): Got the right beads for my craft work and they look great on the beading project i'm currently working on!

Day 4 (Sunday): Lomi Lomi (Hawaiian massage) Advanced techniques/practice day!!! I got to give a Lomi and receive a Lomi :D Not to mention making new connections, and speaking with my instructor about making appropriate ho'o kupu (giveaway/offerings) to the elders when they come out in March.

Day 5 (Today): It's been a very slack day at work (and almost over in 5mins!) Going out for dinner tonight with friends from work :D

My dad put a metal rod from wall to wall in my room so I can hang clothes. My room is tiny and I've run out of space but there's no where else to go atm. Hung up everything and I feel accomplished. Just gotta clean my room now, lol.

I looked at a vision board that I made almost two years ago and was amazed to find that not only have I achieved much of what I'd hoped for on that vision board, but I achieved some of it sooner than I expected. It's easy for some people to mock the power of attraction, but it's been much more satisfying for me to keep an open mind, give it a try and reap the benefits.

Hello my loverlie peeps!

Funny funny for last night that I need to share. Passed up on going out with some friends to hit the movies with another friend. So I'm waiting at the theater for friend to show when some kids walk by saying the movie we wanted to see - the blind side - was sold out. I was sad and cranky. All the squeeing twilight fan gurlz who couldn't get in to see new moon decided to go see EVERY other movie at the cineplex. Well friend finally showed and we stood around talking and then decided to head to dunkin donuts for hor chocolate and a mini ganfest before heading home.

3 HOURS later, we realized how long we had been chatting and skadaddled on home.

Apparently I can be very chatty lol. Anyhow, short week coming up as I took tuesday as a personal day so yippee, and movies tuesday nite!!!
