AboutHello! We are a book discussion group that meets the 2nd Thursday of every month, at Myopic Books in Chicago. Our theme is discussing political Science-Fiction (or, technically, Speculative Fiction) from a radical left perspective (note: all are welcome as long as they are respectful of other participants).
This Year's Reading List
This Live Journal community was originally created so that folks who live outside of Chicago can still participate in THINK GALACTIC discussions. Don't be afraid to jump right in and ask questions, or begin the discussion! (We do kindly request, however, that you wait to begin discussions on a particular book AFTER we have the physical meeting - that way nothing will be given away to people who are still finishing the story).
Think Galactic is holding a convention! Think Galacticon 2009 will take place Friday, June 26 - Sunday, June 28 in downtown Chicago, with special guests Eleanor Arnason (author) and Josh MacPhee (artist/activist). More information about the convention and any future events may be found http://www.thinkgalactic.org and in this very LJ community. Peruse away!
