Now we’re finally going, yeah? We’re past the introduction stage that Beginnings and Gatherings gave us and into the thick of things. I have to say that Art is one of my very favorite episodes of this show. We get that perfect mix of bizarre and still relatable that this show is so good at. This episode gives us the zombie parody, too, which is most excellent. Simon Pegg has said that if you watched Spaced you can see the genres they wanted to get into, and this is definitely a good example.

I was excited to discover over the weekend that IMDB.com has all of the seasons of Buffy on their site to watch, so for those of you who do not have the DVDs, that is an option to experience the episodes.

I have to admit, having Joyce fight with Buffy was the highlight of the episode, and probably the only part I really liked about it! But, unfortunately, it lead to a dreadful episode as Buffy’s mom finds two dead children laying in the playground and makes it her mission to find the killer.

A quick note from your faithful recapper: Apparently, episode two aired right after the premier, but I didn’t realize it. D’oh! Sorry about that. On with the recap!

Episode two is good because Arthur is surprisingly complex, Merlin’s darn near usurping Tennant’s Doctor for most adorkable, and Tony Head is squeezing out more emotion than the writing should logically allow. It has flaws, yes, but it’s fun and sometimes that’s enough. Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve fallen in love with it.

As the trend has been with Battlestar Galactica, for every happy occasion there is one that punches you right in the face. You can’t have more than ten minutes of good at a time before something terrible comes along and makes you cry. I’ve started to look at it this way: It’s a happy episode if Laura isn’t crying by the end, or hasn’t cried or been on the verge of crying. Or you know, isn’t dying. Which brings us to my pick for happiest episode number eight: ‘Resurrection Ship Part 2′.

Before he was the most delicious doctor on Sex & The City or a millionaire on Dirty, Sexy Money, and my graduation commencement speaker, he was just your average gang leader. Blair Underwood makes a wonderfully stereotypical appearance in this episode as Reginald Brooks. But this episode begins on a decidedly somber note. Everyone gathers at Captain Jenkins funeral. He’s been killed by a drunk driver. The Jump Street gang is left without a leader and they’re falling apart.

The L Word – Summer DVD Review – Pilot

For my summer DVD reviews I choose a show which I will dearly miss next January. A show that has been around for the past six years, From the first moment I heard the rumors about a show with this storyline I was dying to see it. Especially since I myself was struggling with my own sexuality a show like this was helpful in ways. More even so because there never really where any lesbian characters in television. At least not with mayor story lines evolving around the issue. I was completely psyched and counting down the days when January 18th 2004 finally rolled around, I watched it and I loved it. The only thing I ever really hated about the show was the fact that it only had 12 episodes a season, and of course that there where only 6 seasons.

‘The L Word’ is a story about the lives and loves of a group of lesbian and bisexual friends living in Los Angeles. The first episode mainly shows you the relationships in the group and where everyone is in their life.

Oh My God! This show is getting more intense as the weeks go by. I am just going to say to all of you that are not watching- START! Or get the DVD when it comes out, I will! It is that good! Anyways, here is what is happening: Everyone is packing to leave and get the hell off this God forsaken island of doom, but creepy Madison is missing and can’t be found. Henry asks for help to look for her and would you believe that Cal is the one who steps up to the plate first? Way to go English!

Spaced – Summer DVD Review – Beginnings

You put Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright together, and what do you get? Genius films like Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Of course, those are all the big screen efforts, but what about the small screen? Well, look back a decade in the past to 1999 and you’ll find Spaced, a quirky comedy about a group of people trying to find their place in the world as they tread that murky place somewhere between youth and adulthood. Well, that’s the serious way to put it, anyway. The more realistic way to put it is “a group of utter nutjobs who wind up thrust together by a twist of fate and have to learn to endure each others issues… all while trying to find their place in the world at a rather confusing stage of life”.

24 nabs Starbuck

She wowed on Battlestar Galactica, she was one of the only good things on Bionic Woman and she even spoke with TheTwoCents a while back. Now, according to Hollywood Reporter, Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast of 24 for next season.

“In a casting straight out of fan central, Katee Sackhoff, best known for her role as Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on “Battlestar Galactica,” has been tapped to co-star on another series with a big fan following, Fox’s “24.”

Sackhoff will play Dana Walsh, a smart, competent, expert data analyst at CTU with a secret past who is involved with CTU agent Davis Cole (Freddie Prinze Jr.).”

Also from FOX: Freddie Prinze Jr., Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd, Jennifer Westfeldt and Chris Diamantopoulos have joined the cast of 24 for the series’ eighth season. The Emmy Award-winning drama starring Kiefer Sutherland returns for its next astonishing day with a two-night, four-hour premiere beginning Sunday, Jan. 17 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

As previously announced, Sutherland, Jones, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Annie Wersching also return. In addition, Bollywood icon Anil Kapoor (“Slumdog Millionaire”) makes his American TV debut as OMAR HASSAN, a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission.

After recapping Battlestar Galactica all the way to its end, and still generally depressed that my Friday nights are decidedly empty now, how wonderful that I can bring back the show in some capacity. And since this show is as happy as drowning a basket of kittens, I thought that we could spend our summer rehashing the 10 happiest episodes (which, even happy probably still include someone dying.) We’re going from least happy to happiest, and for number ten I’ve selected ‘Daybreak Part III’. Why? Because it’s drowning a basket of kittens laced with the birth of an adorable puppy.

Red John is at it again, ladies and gentlemen. He is back screwing with Jane’s head and it is awesome in a really horrible, awful, and wonderful way. This time, he uses poor Emma Plaskett as a victim. When CBI arrives at the scene, they see Emma’s toenails painted red with her own blood, just like Red John had done to Jane’s wife. Just when they are trying to convince Jane otherwise, a plane flies overhead and skywrites Red John’s signature smiley face. Even though Jane has every right to say “I told you so,” he doesn’t.

He gets everyone out of the church and tells them to go back to the Inn. As they all are leaving, Madison sees JD hiding by a tree and giving her a “shhhh” sign.

NCIS - Aliyah (Air Date: May 19, 2009)

‘Aliyah’ is a Hebrew word which means as much as ‘ascent’ it refers to Jewish immigration to Israel. I have been spoiler free all season but I just needed to know what that word meant. It basically means that when you move to Israel you are ascending, in essence it means that you are moving to a better place. Moving from Israel is called ‘Yerida’ which means decent.

Knowing the meaning of that word you pretty much know what this episode will hold in store for you. Especially when you have seen the ending of the last episode. Let’s start where the last episode ended.

Tony is lying on Ziva’s living room floor holding Ziva at gunpoint, who has just kicked in the door to her own apartment after she has seen the struggle that ensued in her apartment from the outside of the building. She ran inside when she heard the gunshots and she is now holding her gun pointed at Tony. Michael is deadly wounded on the floor next to Tony. Ziva turns Michael onto his back, he tells her that he is sorry.

It’s graduation time for the boys and girls of Constance Billiard and St. Judes. Which gives me some deep fangirly pleasure. Buffy graduated from high school a year before I graduated from middle school, so the fact that my graduation date from college is the same as the UESers makes me pretty dorkily happy. I feel free to admit this here, because if you’re reading this review in the first place, you totally get it. The second season finale of Gossip Girl had it’s ups and downs, but at least it finally gave me the ending that I wanted and set up a lot of new story lines for the third season.

The show centers on a high school’s once wonderful glee club. The club has fallen by the wayside, but one man hopes to change that. Will Schuster, spanish teacher to the rescue. Tonight, we were treated to a special airing of the pilot from Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy. So, did the show live up to expectations?

It’s been a long season here at Dancing With The Stars. The stars have been plagued by multiple injuries, and more complicated and tricky dances than ever before. Our stars have been battling it out for weeks. Tonight, all of their work came to fruition as a winner was crowned in the massive two-hour finale. It came down to Melissa Rycroft, Shawn Johnson, and Gilles Marini.
