mini-challenge

Include a curves layer with the following settings:
RGB - output:140 input:100, output:16 input:40
RED - output:55 input:140
GREEN - output:80 input:120
BLUE - output:44 input:37, output:95 input:76, output:85 input:211, output:200 input:240
None of these are the hightest/lowest points, they're all curving points and for Photoshop users I can upload a .psd of this if you'd like

And those are the only restrictions! Like regular challenges you can make any kind of graphic you like, but unlike regular challenges there is no limit on the amount of entries you make. What's the catch? You've only got three days to make this. GO!

Remember to enter your submission as a new post to the community and include your .psd (or alternate program equivalent). Also remember to tag your entries with your username, the kind of graphic you've made and 'mini-challenge'.

Also please enter challenge#12: design and challenge #13: paint if you can. I'm aware that they are probably our two hardest challenges to date, but I'm in the process of working on both of them and I'm learning so much that can be applied to other graphics I make. I'm willing to extend the deadline if anybody needs it :)

I've been avoiding Curves challenges (even though it's like my favorite tool) because of this, but now I have to ask:

Can I enter if you have no way to tell that I actually used these curves? In GIMP, you can't create curves on a new layer, so there's really no way for you to know exactly what numbers I put in. The only way I was thinking that could possibly get around this is if I duplicate the base layer with each new step I perform to it. So the very bottom layer would be the unedited image, then I could duplicate the base and apply that curve (so that someone else could apply the curves to the same base and prove that they got the same result), then duplicate that layer for my next step, but you still wouldn't be able to see what specifically I did in the other steps.

to be honest, you've been around here since day #2 and I trust you to do the right thing at this point, so either do what you suggested or include a printscreen of the curves palette as you edit it (whichever is easiest) and that's completely fine with me :D

how's your layout coming along, by the way?

Or... are you avoiding that challenge? :(

I spent a few hours reading over the layout basics, and it just really wasn't something that interested me. Sorry!

I'm definitely going to attempt something for Paint, though.

Please please extend the layout challenge... I just finally got to where I can actually make something, like, Friday night.

You're not entering? You looked like you were pretty far along in the check-in post.

I'm going to try, but the CSS intimidates me. :(

No wonder this is a challenge, lol. The curves layer alone turned Craig Olejnik into a Simpsons character!

I have ps, but don't use it.... but I guess the only way to enter this challenge is if I use it once lol. I need the psd please, psp has curves but doesn't have a way in which I could input those exact numbers.
